Our community PBS member station, KNPB, serving northern Nevada and northeastern California, is proud to take part in the KNPB PBS KIDS Writers Contest.

Few things can capture a child’s imagination like a good book. KNPB PBS KIDS Writers Contest invites children, kindergarten through third grade, in communities across our area to use their boundless imaginations to createoriginal stories and illustrations and then submit them to their local PBS station. This year, more than a thousand children from northern Nevada and northeastern California participated in the KNPB PBS KIDS Writers Contest, building their creative voices, and developing criticalreading and writing skills.

Visit our website at knpb.org/writerscontestto fi nd out more about the contest, read the winning stories and watch the winners announce their stories.

There are many reasons why I think Pandas are absolutely

amazing!

10

11

First, I think Pandas areamazing because there are only 1,000 left in the wild. They are

endangered.

12

13

Next, they are born blind and pink! They eat bamboo and are

able to digest the poison.

14

15

Finally, they learn to see at6 weeks. Learn to climb at 7 months.

16

17

In conclusion, these are the manyreasons why I think Pandas

are amazing!
