We are all the SameWir sind alle gleich

It is an inevitable aspect of human nature to ignore similarities and only notice the differences. Since a very young age I have been a traveler between the two countries: Malaysia and Germany. I have come to real-ise that the grass is never greener on the other side. The series “We are all the Same” illustrates this by placing on the left German and on the right Malaysian photographs of the countryside, which empha-sises the similarities between the works rather than their differences.

Es ist in unserer menschlichen Natur, Unterschiede anstatt Ähn-lichkeiten zu sehen. Als Kind habe ich zwischen Deutschland und Ma-laysien hin und her gewechselt und habe sie erlebt, als ob beiden Länder keine Unterschiede hätten. Die Serie “We are all the Same” il-lustriert das mit Bildern von deutscher Landschaft auf die linke Seite und Bildern von der malaysischen Landschaft auf die rechte Seite. Mann kann sehen, dass es mehr Ähnlichkeiten als Unterschiede gibt.
