• Available on-line• http://websoilsurvey.nrcs.usda.gov/app/

WebSoilSurvey.aspx• Very useful – no need to find in soil survey

book• Can search the whole United States• All information in Soil Survey Book is

located on-line, just have to navigate to it.• Will ‘Time-out’ – you will need to start over.

AOI

• Must chose an AOI (Area of Interest) to go any further.

• AOI must be 10,000 ac or less.

Soil Data Veiwer

• Choose a category on left side• Click on View Rating• Can choose Printable Version – ends up at

least three pages long. Map, map legend and chart.

Topo Model

• Fill colored water 1cm at a time• Draw line on top at water level• Try to look down at the same angle each

time• Continue until you get to the 8cm level.• You can alternate different colors for each

level• Each line will represent a contour interval
