• Tengfei Lin (M.S. Geophysics)• Onur Mutlu (M.S. Geophysics)• Larry Aboaba (M.S. Geophysics)• Trey Stearns (M.S. Geophysics)

out

in

• Araceli Romero– (M.S. Geophysics) – to PEMEX• Yoryenys del Moro (M.S. Geophysics) – to Noble Energy• Nabanita Gupta (Ph.D. Geology) – to Shell

going

• Trey White (M.S. Geology) – to Pioneer (if they like him!)• Ben Dowdell (M.S. Geophysics) – to Noble Energy• Roderick Perez (Ph.D. Geophysics – to BP• Jordan Myers (M.S. Geology) – at Chaparal

3

• Jamie Rich (Asst. Prof. of Geophysics!)in

• 85% of the port to multiplatform performance (Linux and Windows 7)• GUI connection to application programs via parameter files• Device independent graphics• C library utilities to simplify GUI maintenance and port• implemented “intelligent” GUI defaults and expanded GUI provided documentation• two python scripts to replace shell scripts (only 30 to go!)• all but one SEP module (Math) gone!

• Developed and released (some in December 2012) the following new algorithms• gtm – clustering using generative topographic maps• cwt – Marcilio’s version of spectral decomposition with bandwidth extension • Phase residue mapping of unconformities• High resolution (factor component) velocity analysis• complex_stratal_slice (stratal slices of complex spectral components)• complex_pca_spectra (PC-filtering of complex stratal slices)• crossplot (plots two attributes and displays against a 2D color bar)

• Prototyped the following new algorithms• Constrained 3D least-squares prestack time migration (input for diffraction imaging)

• Developed multiple utilities• aaspi_mpi_kill (kills MPI jobs)• aaspi_cleanup (cleans up the large number of intermediate files)• aaspi_set_default parameters (sets installation or personal defaults)• aaspi_geometric_workflow (defines a common multiattribute workflow)

7

Most applications have a flow chart

8

Many applications now have gray “Theory”

boxes

9

Followed by instructions defining parameters and how to complete the GUI

10

These are followed by references and examples
