At the end of the 19th century, the legend of the Finnish forest industry, G. A. Serlachius, lifted the villages of Mänttä and
Filppula on to the world map with his paper products. Since then, for over hundred years, we have received visitors from all over the world on the estates of Serlachius. Our services have delighted both kings and honorary councils, as they still do.
Let us take care of you and your companions with the same courtesy and hospitality we offer to all our honourable guests.
We want to offer the best quality service in the country: touching moments with the national art treasures, magnificent
architecture, memorable adventures on lakes and in forests, delicacies from the best cooks, and sweet, peaceful dreams.
Welcome to be our guest!
Serlachius Museum Gösta
In 1935, the new home of the industrialist Gösta Serlachius, the
Joenniemi Manor, was completed. In 2014, beside the manor rose a
modern, impressive wooden pavilion. Together, these two form one of
the most significant art museums of the country, Serlachius Museum
Gösta. The museum presents every year several eloquent exhibitions:
big names of the contemporary art and new openings, masters from
the Golden Age of Finnish art.
For groups, the Art Museum is a memorable attraction full of art, history
and architecture. For meetings and banquets, it offers the services
of top chefs (see Restaurant Gösta) and versatile premises: elegant
Kivijärvi hall, fresh conference room Peda, rustic Autereen tupa hut,
dining hall of Restaurant Gösta with a view, and an atmospheric wine
cellar. We can offer you high quality additional programmes in the
exhibitions and in the park, on the island, and on the lake.

In 1934, the mill owner built a grand new head office for his forest
company in the centre of the town of Mänttä. This magnificent building is
now the hive of the Gustaf Museum.
Gustaf tells stories of history. At the head office, a suitable programme
for the day is a memorable exhibition visit or a fun guided tour.
Exhibition ”Paper Devil” introduces the life and business affairs of the
legend of the Finnish forest industry, G. A. Serlachius. Guided drama tour
”Working for the Company” takes you in the middle of the hierarchical
working life of the 1950s. In the exhibition ”Landscape”, you can build a
landscape of your own from the classics of world art.
The head office has several meeting and team rooms, including an
auditorium. The impressive entrance hall of the museum is also available
for organizing your events. Restaurant Gösta produces elegant lunches
and coffee caterings for meetings in the head office.

Organized since 1993, Mänttä Art Festival is the summer’s most
significant showcase of contemporary art in Finland. Every year
from June to August, it presents the most topical visual art.
The theme, artists and exhibition architecture are decided by a
curator. The association organizing the festival, Mänttä friends of
art, chooses a new curator for each year. The main exhibition area
is once again Pekilo, a former fodder factory in the centre of the
town of Mänttä, in the factory milieu.
Make a reservation for your group and order a guided tour! We
will tailor a suitable tour for you in our exhibition. In Pekilo, the
threshold to the world of contemporary art is low.
