Vienna on a budget
· Ringstraße: Take a stroll around this famous street to see many of the main sights of Vienna and also a part of the Danube canal (check map on front). You can also do this by Tram (Ringstraßen-Tram) – beware, this is a tourist line with a special fare.
· Prater (Vienna Prater): The Riesenrad (Ferris wheel) is one of Vienna’s main attractions. It’s located in the Prater, a park on the Eastern side of the city centre ( Praterstern). While riding the Ferris wheel is quite expensive, strolling around the park is for free.
· Zentralfriedhof (central cemetary): Take Tram 71 from Schwarzenbergplatz to visit Vienna’s largest cemetary. Famous graves include the ones of Falco, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Franz Schubert and Johann Strauß. There are also Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist and Orthodox parts of the cemetary. Mind the opening hours and don’t get lost!
· City view from Kahlenberg: Take to Heiligenstadt, change to Bus 38 A and take a 20 min ride to Kahlenberg (it’s all included in the regular € 1.80 ticket). Enjoy the view over Vienna and the Danube from this 384 meter high mountain.
