Year 4 TeamThe year 4 team are excited to welcome you back to school in September. The teachers in Year 4 are:

I am really looking forward to being

your year leader and class teacher next year. In my spare

time I enjoy baking cakes and making

We will be doing a range of exciting topics…

English and Maths Sets

Maths and English sessions will start off in classes however, depending on government guidelines regarding Covid, we will eventually set 3 ways for each of these subjects.

Writing ▪ We will be exploring a range of exciting stories, picture books and

poems over the course of the year and writing a range of genres. In the Autumn term we will be looking at these fantastic picture books.

MathsWe will start by covering any gaps in your maths knowledge so do not panic.

We will continue to work on developing our mental maths skills e.g times tables and division facts, doubling and halving etc.

You can help by practising the following:

➝ Read and telling the time both 12 and 24 hour.

➝ Learn x and division facts- TTRockstars.

➝ Practice written methods for + - x and ÷

➝ In July 2021 all Year 4 children will take a statutory times tables test so it is vital that your child knows their tables.

➢ It is so important that all children are punctual so that they can complete any morning work activities and attend school daily.

➢ Children should come to school wearing the correct school uniform remembering a tie each day.

➢ Children should have the correct equipment for lessons including reading records and P.E kits.

➢ It is important homework is handed in on time.

Summer holiday taskWe want to get to know you so over the summer holidays please try to complete one of the following activities and bring it with you on the first day back in school in September.

➝ Create a poster about yourself.

➝ Design a shield that represents you and your interests and hobbies.

➝ Complete a self portrait.

➝ If you can think of another way to tell your teacher all about yourself

then please choice a medium that suits you.
