The Society for The Propagation of the Faith
Dear Fr. Ken and the St. Clare Families, Once again, I am grateful for your support for World Mission Sunday with the collection of $2,765. As Pope Francis tells us time and time again, “No one should be excluded from the joy brought by the Lord.” The prayer that I have for the poor, who will receive your collection, is that they will experience some of this joy that Pope Francis speaks about. We are really imparting a positive, loving encouragement to our sisters and brothers who are less fortunate than we are. World Mission Sunday is more than a collection, it is a teaching moment. Sacrifice is counter-cultural and a radical statement that sharing in the suffering of others is actually a powerful tool of love. I remain in solidarity with our missionary brothers and sisters who are praying for you and your community. We are grateful for your perseverance and love for the missions. I thank God through Jesus Christ, for you. Rev Robert P. Perron Director
Al-Anon At Enders Ender’s Island,
Mystic, Connecticut
Thursday evenings at 7 PM
At Al-Anon Family Group meetings, friends and family members of problem drinkers share their
experiences and learn how to apply the principles of the Al-Anon program to their
individual situations.
They will learn that they are not alone in the problems that they face, and that they have choices that will lead to a greater peace of mind, whether
the drinker continues to drink or not. This is a meeting open to all and is ADA accessible.
With the months of snow that will unfortunately make it to our shoreline, be sure you are
registered on our Flocknote site.
Call the parish office at 401-348-8765 or register on our website at stclarewesterly.com
and click the Flocknote tab.
Fr. Ken uses Flocknote to alert the community of any Mass cancellations because of storms or
inclement weather. Be part of the circuit; don’t be left out. Sign up now if you haven’t already.
Stay Connected!
Thank You
On behalf of Fr. Ken, Fr. Peter and the Parish Staff, we would like to thank everyone for the well
wishes, prayers, cards and gifts.
May God bless you and your families with his love, now and forever.
Happy New Year

St. Clare Helping Hands Ministry
Many thanks to the families of St. Clare Church for the support shown this Christmas season.
Donations collected went to the Living Supplies Closet, the Harvest Homes program at the WARM Shelter,
the Westerly High School Community Outreach student group and the Jonnycake Center.
Because of your generosity and prayers, you have made a
difference to many families in the Westerly area. The collection of St. Nicholas Kits totaled 278,
Adopt-A-Child envelopes totaled 149 and cash donations were dispersed to help those who have little or nothing.
The Helping Hands Ministry thanks you again and wishes
everyone a joyous and healthy New Year.
The Living Supplies Closet
Dear St. Clare Families, Thank you to all those who donated items and gift cards for the Living Supplies Closet. Your generous support will help fill a niche in our community and will provide for those in need, items that are not covered by food stamps or distributed by welfare agencies. The Living Supplies Closed is a non-profit community outreach program and we operate on a referral basis; only people whose genuine need has been established through referring agencies will receive items. We are staffed by volunteers and supported entirely by donations from organizations, businesses and individuals in the community. This year alone we have served 1,168 individuals representing 2,758 family members. Your contributions will help provide relief to those area residents who are in need of this assistance. On behalf of our Board of Directors, our staff and most importantly, the many families and individuals we support, thank you again for your generosity. Sincerely,
Susan Dowd, Coordinator
