Visit the Bakery

+What happens when I visit the Bakery? You will be inspired by seeing the Bakers at work

They work so hard to make good products and improve themselves

You can meet the Bakers and see that they are people just like you and me

It smells wonderful!

You can probably get a sample or maybe even buy some bread

The Bakers are there at least 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Thursday-Saturday

+What else can I do at the Bakery?

You can bring the Bakers lunch You, and a small group of up to eight people, can join the bakers for lunch

by scheduling a visit by email to: volcoordinator@bridgestl.org There are generally five bakers and a volunteer plus your group that will

share lunch. The Bakers appreciate a hearty meal If you don’t wish to prepare a meal, fast food like KFC or Subway is fine.

Salads and fruit are really appreciated

The conversations are enlightening

You will leave a changed person. Magic happens!

+Is there even more?

If you have the time and energy, you can be trained as a Bridge Bread Shift Supervisor and work with the Bakers

Typically this is an all-day commitment once a week, but we also need fill-ins when the regular shift supervisor is out

Bridge Bread Shift Supervisors almost always are inspired by the Bakers and become ‘ambassadors’ to the get the word out to the community

Go Shopping!

+It takes a lot of flour to make all that bread! Bridge Bread purchases supplies based on orders each week

We buy several hundred pounds of flour, butter, sugar, and other supplies at Restaurant Depot on Manchester between Hampton and McCausland and deliver it to the Bakery on Wednesdays
