What is Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease that occurs when the blood glucose level also known as the “blood sugar” becomes very high.

Hormone called Insulin, helps absorption of the glucose into the cells of our body.

The pancreas (a large gland behind the stomach) releases insulin and glucagon into the blood stream to help our body store and use the sugar and fat from the food we eat.

Further, the glucose is converted into energy and used by our body to perform necessary vital functions.

With passage of time, glucose levels keep on increasing in our blood. This can cause severe and “fatal” health problems and in simple terms it is known as Diabetes.

Preventive measures to be taken are:

Loosing extra fat from belly and from other parts helps in the secretion and circulation of vital hormones throughout our body.

Become more physically active

Aerobic exercise makes your heart and bones strong, relieves stress and improves blood circulation. It also lowers your risk for type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke by keeping your blood glucoseThe food you eat gets digested and broken down into a sugar your body's cells can use.

Using Omega 3 Suppliment

Omega 3 fatty acid help prevent clogging of the arteries. Some types of fish are high in omega-3 fatty acids.

Fish oil supplements could help reduce the risk for type 2 diabetes, new research suggests. The supplements, also known as omega-3 fatty acids, increase levels of a hormone called adiponectin that's linked to insulin sensitivity, Harvard researchers found.

Quit Smoking.

“Both [smoking and diabetes] can damage your heart and your circulation. Both can raise your blood pressure and your cholesterol levels.

Smokers also have a harder time controlling their blood glucose levels, because insulin resistance is increased by smoking.”
