A Spiritual Experience is one which opens the mind and the heart to a deeper understanding of oneself and one’s place in the cosmos and the world.

Hang on… Spirituality without God? That can’t be right!
Whilst in churches spirituality will generally be thought of as a synonym for Christianity, in schools this is not the case.

Regular awe-inspiring experiences may improve our mental health and make us nicer people, psychologists have claimed. Studies on groups of volunteers showed that experiencing awe made people feel they had more time to spare. This in turn led them to be more patient, less materialistic, and more willing to give up time to help others.

Writing in the journal Psychological Science, the scientists from Stanford University in California, concluded: "A small dose of awe gave participants a momentary boost in life satisfaction... and underscored the importance of cultivating awe in everyday life."
