What’s New in FICO® TRIAD® Customer Manager 8.5
Today’s challenging economic environment has put new demands on risk management.
In order to give our clients greater ability to succeed, FICO has dramatically enhanced the strategy design and visualization capabilities in FICO TRIAD 8.5. The Decision Graph component will help you view, create, edit, maintain and explain your most sophisticated strategies.
Decision Graph, the second generation of the module introduced in TRIAD 8.4 as Strategy Designer, opens up multiple new windows of visibility into your strategies and enables you to work with elaborate decision trees in an efficient, simplified manner. This dynamic graphical tool helps you “get your head around” a large, complex strategy and focus in quickly on the specific parts of it you need to think about.
TRIAD Customer Manager version 8.5 also includes enhancements to the TRIAD Analytic Datamart. Now you can perform more flexible data aggregation for extracts. You can also simulate the performance of custom decision keys that could deliver competitive advantage—without having to implement them and collect production data. Use the TRIAD Analytic Datamart to calculate the keys from unique variables in your data, then run the resulting datasets through your decision trees in Decision Graph. Very quickly you’ll have a good idea of how a proposed custom key will impact your results and whether implementation is worthwhile.
Other advantages of upgrading to TRIAD 8.5 include support for the latest versions of the FICOTM Blaze Advisor® business rules management system and Business Objects (BO XI R3.1) Desktop Intelligence.
customer management
Reduce strategy size, complexity by 25% or more
Decision Graph, an innovative new tool for visualizing and improving decision strategies, comes standard in TRIAD Customer Manager version 8.5. It enables you to visually explore and automatically optimize your strategies for efficiency as well as compare two strategies to see where they apply different logic. Using Decision Graph with the TRIAD Analytic Datamart, you can also more easily explore strategies that give you a competitive edge by simulating custom decision keys based on your unique data.
With Decision Graph, you can compare two strategies logically by instantly transforming them into a common format so they share an identical ordering of decision keys. Use highlighting to understand where one strategy assigns a different action than the other.
Compare strategies side-by-side
With Decision Graph you can:
Improve strategy visibility •and accelerate processing by automatically optimizing your strategies for efficiency
Compare strategies based not only •on structure, but on logic
Explore and explain strategies by •instantly switching views, zoom levels, highlight criteria
Populate your strategies with data, •dynamically highlighting decision keys as data flows through them
Develop more competitive •strategies by quickly simulating the impact of custom decision keys based on data unique to your portfolio

Decision Graph features »in TRIAD 8.5
Strategy design. Build strategies from scratch and edit existing strategies in leveled tree, graph, and/or action graph representation.
Strategy comparison. Compare two strategies (e.g., Champion and Challenger), focusing on the logical (as opposed to structural) differences between strategies.
Quick exploration (bottom left). Easily switch between leveled horizontal and vertical displays of standard tree, exception and action graph formats. Zoom out from a detailed view to a bird’s eye view to understand where a strategy segment fits into the whole. Follow a path across a large strategy. Conditional filtering. Use filters on a strategy to show only segments of the strategy that meet certain conditions. For example, show only the segments of the strategy where Cycles Delinquent ≥ 2, Behavior Score > 670 and Months on Books ≤ 6.

Strategy estimation, visualization and profiling. Populate newly developed strategies with datasets generated from actual production runs and graphically show how these new strategies would perform. Using datasets you can show count/percent at each node, identify paths with highest frequency counts, N or more counts, N% greater or less than total counts. The profile table provides a comprehensive statistical description of the data in relation to the strategy, while the node profile makes it possible to see detailed information about the data that reaches any node in the strategy. For example, you can see the average behavior score of the account records that would pass through the node or the number of records that reach each action (scenario) that is downstream from the node.
Efficiency optimization. Automatically reorder node levels to simplify visualization and improve processing performance. Locks nodes you want to remain unaffected.
Availability of Decision »Graph and TRIAD 8.5
Decision Graph is an integrated component of FICO TRIAD 8.5, and is also available as a desktop upgrade for clients on TRIAD 8.1.2, 8.2.2, 8.3 and 8.4.
FICO has made TRIAD 8.5 an easy implementation for clients using TRIAD 8.3 and 8.4. Since TRIAD 8.5 mainly involves changes to the user interface and reporting platform, you should need to do little or no end-to-end system testing.
Decision Graph estimation and profiling option
Decision Graph enables you to view simulated results at each node, drill into node profiles, and see a profile table that provides a comprehensive statistical description of the data in relation to the strategy.
FICO® TRIAD® Customer Manager version 8.5 is available in early 2010 as an end-user installed application.
