In the 2.0 products, creating a cross-domain CLM solution required purchase and administration of multiple client licenses for each user, in addition to a license for each server
In the CLM 2011, role-based licenses enable role-appropriate read/comment access to the other two applications
Buy client licenses that are authorized, floating or token-based
No server pricing, no server editions

The server license is included with any CLM 2011 User LicenseReduce Cost of Ownership & Administration
Customers can now install as many servers as CLM 2011 user licenses purchased on any platform for any purpose!
Customer Benefits:
– Jazz Team Servers in CLM 2011 can run on ANY supported platform • (System z, System i, Windows, Linux, Unix)
– For ANY purpose• Support disaster recovery installations
• Maintain separate test or training configurations• Move servers between platforms w/o additional license fees• Enables teams who need many servers for physical security isolation• Simplifies trade-ups from other Rational products
– Easily change and grow your server topology without a licensing transaction

Role-based product license keys enable functionality in shared application architecture
LEGENDR = Read-only access
RW = Read/Write access
NOTES:1. All Jazz users have ability to comment on an artifact if they have at least Read ("R") access to the artifact and Read-Write ("RW") access to Jazz Foundation
2. The Jazz Foundation capability includes dashboards, review/comment, common reporting (without report customization), and server & project administration
3. Automation == Jazz Team Build with support for multiple build engines, including Build Forge. However, Build Forge licenses are sold separately
4. Point product and CLM deals will include a sufficient number of "RTC Stakeholder" licenses to support users just needing access to Change Management.
5. RTC Developer for Workgroups is distinguished from RTC Developer as follows:
•Limited to 50 licenses / server
•No floating licenses, but can be mixed with all types of Developer licenses
•No support for cross repository / distributed SCM
•No high availability support
6. An RRC analyst license is needed to modify the requirement type system and project/artifact templates

a) Standalone products – same as 2.x. Each product has its own JTS, can be deployed on a single or distributed app server.
b) CLM solution deployed into a single application server, shared JTS
c) CLM solution deployed into multiple application servers for increased scalability, shared JTS

A shared installation wizard
One download contains all three applications and the Jazz Team Server
Can install all applications on one application server or spread across systems for scaling
Total download size is smaller than the sum of the 2.x downloads.
Can run on a laptop

Is that the same Bill on RTC and RRC? Does Joe have all the rights he should? Are there two different Rachels?

25
Use work items to track changes to other artifacts using the Tracks, Tracked by link type
Leverage queries and viewlets to govern change requests
Examples:
A defects tracks a requirement = requirement is incorrectly written
A task tracks a requirement when there is work to complete a requirement
A task tracks a requirement when notifying others of request to change the requirement

Automated Traceability Link CreationIdentify a defect’s impact to other artifacts
Traceability links on defects are automatically created when you:
– Establish links exist across requirements plan items and test cases
– Run test case from Quality Manager, and submit a defect
26

Software and Systems Engineering | Rational
Linked Plans with Gap Analysis Triage defects with awareness of their impact
See which plan items are affected by defects
See which requirements are affected by defects
Add these columns to your plan for real-time transparency of information
Use predefined queries against work items or in dashboards
Use link previews to see the status of the linked artifacts a defect is impacting

All plans can be linked to provide insight into the full scope of a project, including requirements, development and test
Check for requirements gaps using a simple wizard

MotivationsImprove cross-product visibility and reporting
Linked artifacts across the lifecycle
– CLM delivers integrated products
– Need to be able to report on these artifacts and relationships
Consistency
– Reporting in the three CLM products has been an inconsistent story…
– …both for out-of-the-box and custom reporting
32
© 2011 IBM Corporation
Software and Systems Engineering | Rational
Common Data Warehouse (DW)
Out-of-the-box document-style reports (RRDG)
Custom reporting with Rational Reporting for Development Intelligence (RRDI)
– Cognos-based authoring
– Viewing experience integrated into the CLM Web UI
Out-of-the-box development intelligence reports (BIRT)
(Optional) Custom document generation with standalone RPE purchase
33
Cross-application ReportingImprove cross-product visibility and reporting

Cross-application Reporting Architecture Shared Data Ware House enables reports across applications
Use out of the box Birt reports, step up to Cognos if you need to create your own reports.

reports
Reporting on data beyond these three CLM products requires separate installation and licensing of Insight and/or RPE

CLM 2011 supports cross-product reporting of one or more instances of RTC, RQM, and RRC connected to a common Jazz Team Server (JTS)
CLM 2011 installs all reporting components except RRDI– Data services and ETLs are integrated into point products
– Data is collected in a common data warehouse
– Predefined BIRT reports are provided out-of-the-box
– Predefined RRDG reports are provided out-of-the-box with RRC
RRDI is provided as an OPTIONAL DOWNLOAD– Predefined Cognos BI reports are provided out-of-the-box
– Web-based Cognos BI report authoring tools are provided
– Must use a supported commercial database (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server)
CLM 2011 is upward compatible with Rational Insight and Rational Publishing Engine– Integrate other data sources
– Support more complex deployments

Cross-application ReportingUsing Rational Reporting for Development Intelligence (RRDI)
Traceability reports for a lifecycle project come out of the box now
Use Out-of-the-box reports and document templates
Step up to using RRDI if you need to create your own reports
Shared Data Warehouse enables reports across CLM applications and can be used with Rational Insight for Enterprise reports
