Development and Consultancy Expertise in Action

The owners of this clothing factory in Archway wanted to close down and convert into 45 flats…

I was brought in as an affordable housing consultant. Firstly, I doubled the density for the development, providing more flats for both private and affordable models. Then I liaised with housing associations to dispose of the affordable on site.

Regeneration consultant to Barnet Council

S106 AgreementsWhat are they?Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 sets out requirements for developers to contribute towards affordable housing either through providing units on site, units off site or a cash contribution. The requirements vary borough to borough and are constantly being updated. What can I do about it?Sometimes, once you’ve got all your quotes in for the work, these requirements can make a development unviable. We compile all your quotes, write a specialist report to submit with your planning application and negotiate with councils to try and reduce your affordable housing contribution.
