Programs used in the industryAs recommended by the lead editor at the Buffalo Sabres

Why I need to move• Average Salary of $57,000 •Jobs hard to get in area• Industry not prominent • Salary much smaller locally as opposed to CA or NYC• Greater potential for growth into personal company

New York, New York• Salary is almost doubled at $89,000• Jobs are much easier to find• Heart of the industry, big city• Growth potential

• Salary less than NYC at $74,000• Great job opportunities• Burbank, CA • Warner Bros., NBC, Walt Disney, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, etc.

• Los Angeles • Paramount Pictures, Columbia, Sony Entertainment, 20th Century Fox, etc.

California

Local Jobs• Sports: Buffalo Bills, Sabres, Bandits,

Bisons (All are becoming in house)• Advertising: Crowley Webb, IBC

Digital, Full Circle, Squeaky Wheel, etc.

• News: Local Channels (2,4,7), Buffalo.com, etc.

• Television/Film: Almost non-existent…

Conclusion• Film jobs are harder to find locally• NYC and CA are leaders in the

industry• Downsides of living expense

exceeded by job opportunities• Possible future with the Sabres• Attending grad school in NYC for my

MFA in Film and Motion Graphics• http://www.vimeo.com/23875095
