New physics and AnimationsMaterial design’s physics and animations are very consistent to ensure minimum cognitive load
Material design induces natural triggers that involves lesser user of brain, and mainly relies on optic nerves and cerebral cortex. Cerebral cortex stores our natural triggers. That often results in lowest cognitive loads, sometimes as low visual recognition loads as animals have.

Brenden Mulligan, CEO Cluster app on his blog shares “We felt like we were designing the first Android app that ever existed”
Old Clusters designs: For which Brenden cites “Copy the iOS app and convert anything super iOSy to how it should look on Android”
It restores UI/UX to infancy
Material design brings a lot to the desk, many of which is untouched and new to even the most experienced designers. It is predicted that many will fail in mastering material design. It is the right time for new talented designers to showcase themselves, and savvy designers to monetize over it.
We have seen even Google not being consistent initially about the implementation of hamburger button and its animation. This ambiguity can still be seen at http://www.google.com/design/spec/animation/delightful-details.html
The animations are partially covered by the expanding menu.
