1 SPS (Speech Processing Solutions)
1.1 Introduction
The purpose of this document is to provide details of how to install the Seneca SPS Integration on the
various supported Seneca platforms-Fat client, Citrix and Windows Terminal Services.
1.2 Components
Before installing any of the SPS components, please remove any other installations that may affect the
Philips hardware devices (e.g. the Philips Control Centre or SpeechMikeB360b.exe) then reboot the
machine.
The software components required for SPS are listed below:
SPS Licensing Server.
SPS SDK (Software Development Kit).
Philips Speech Drivers
The components can be obtained from the Egton FTP server:
ftp://ftp.senecacm.co.uk/SenecaInstalls/DD/SPS
The credentials for the server can be obtained from the support team.

1.2.1 License_Server_4.5.zip
This .ZIP file contains the SPS licensing server. This should be installed on a server that is accessible on
the network so that the Seneca clients can connect to them via TCP/IP.
Once installed, a valid SPS license needs to be requested from SPS. To do this, a license request file must
be exported from the machine where the license server is installed.
1.2.2 Installing the SPS License Server
Run the setup.exe in the SPS License Server ZIP file:

1.2.5 speechsdk_swt_4.5.770.ZIP
This .ZIP file contains the SPS SDK (Software Development Kit) and needs to be installed on the machines
where Seneca.exe will be running. i.e. on the PC for fat client installs or on the Citrix/Terminal Services
server where Seneca.exe is running. This is used by the Seneca.exe application to communicate with the
SPS system.
1.2.6 PhilipsSpeechDriversSetup.exe.
This application installs the software components for the thin client environments (including the
hardware drivers). Note PhilipsSpeechDrivers64Setup.exe should not be used as this is for 64 bit based
application (Seneca is a 32 bit application). This installation file can be found at c:\program files
(x86)\Sencea\PhilipsSpeechDriversSetup.exe.
This should be installed on all the client(s) and the server for the thin client environment, with the
appropriate options being selected.
