Youngsong is the dynamic entrepreneur and designer who propelled her high-style rental firm Wildflower Linen into prominence in the domestic and international special-event industries. She began her career as a fashion designer, converting her formal training in South Korea and the United States into a dream come true as the creator of namesake lines of women’s apparel sold in boutiques and department stores throughout the U.S. Youngsong also was a senior instructor at the prestigious Otis/Parsons Art Institute’s School of Design in Los Angeles. Youngsong later melded her affinity for entertaining and fine dining with her expert knowledge of textiles and fabrications to create a thriving decor rental business, Wildflower Linen. Since founding the company in 2001, Youngsong has grown it into a preferred source for celebrity event planners, leading hotel and catering executives, discerning organizers of corporate and social functions, and the hosts of gala weddings of all sizes. She’s been partnering with Lotte Hotels and Resorts and helping them design wedding packages, as well as facilitate their annual Wedding Event. But even though many brides in the U.S. and Korea would love to have Youngsong Martin plan their dream wedding, she has made it very clear that she is not a wedding planner. She is interested only in design and business consulting and has increased Lotte’s wedding revenue by over 100%! Lotte Hotels and Resorts is Korea’s largest luxury chain hotel with six hotels: Seoul, World, Ulsan, Busan, Jeju and Moscow. Lotte Hotels sought out the celebrity designer, Youngsong Martin, to help them expand their wedding market. Youngsong, originally from Seoul, was the perfect choice to bring her cutting-edge design and business sense to the successful hotel chain and help them blend Western and Eastern wedding design and culture to offer brides more inspiration and selection for their perfect day. The first Annual Score Conference was held March 23, 2012 at the Marriott Anaheim, with over 1, 000 entrepreneurial women and tenured business owners in attendance. Designed especially for women business owners, the conference addressed the unique challenges and issues related to marketing a business in today’s economy. The conference offered female entrepreneurs an opportunity to hear from experts on how enterprises can survive and thrive in this economy. The Key note was delivered by Tom Patty who provided an introduction to the winning marketing strategies used by five local women business owners that lead them to their success. Later in the day we heard from Youngsong Martin, a Score Success story who presented her story and how she accomplished her goals.
