Wokingham Lib Demcouncillors have beenfighting to keep localschool crossingpatrols. CouncillorPrue Bray says, “TheConservatives havechosen to replace ourmuch loved schoolcrossing patrols withunmanned crossings.

“Unmanned crossingscan’t look after thesafety of children whoare crossing the road,move on cars whichare parked too close to

the crossing or reportsuspicious behaviourin the area.

“The change won’t

even save the taxpayermoney, because it’sexpensive to installand maintain anunmanned crossing.”
