WINTER SAFETY TIPSFROM MR. SAFETY

Cover up to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.

Exposed skin rapidly becomes stressed from winter temperatures

and the drying effects of low humidity.

In the winter, protective clothing is a must for outdoor workers. Our bodies work overtime to beat heat loss, and workers can become fatigued much more easily.

Wear proper protection on your head this winter. Wearing an insulated hat or

hat liner can reduce heat loss by 90%.

During winter, when workers are outside for extended

periods of time, lined gloves and warmers can help

combat hand fatigue and prevent subsequent injuries.

When ice and snow are present, wear waterproof boots or traction accessories–such as ice cleats–to help prevent slips and falls.
