Explain, in detail, why some elderly people have greater health needs than others. (6)

Some elderly people have more health needs than other elderly people. This is because elderly are more prone to diseases as they not as fit as they used to be. However this varies for everyone. For example, an old person who is dependent on government funds could be more prone to hypothermia as they may not have enough money to heat up the flat. Whereas another old person who is independent has enough money to heat up their homes and is less prone to getting hypothermia.

Some rely on a wheelchair to get about he’ll need more ramps in the house. This will decrease the chance of the elderly person getting injured and helps them to have an easier life.
