5G R&D TRIAL AND CONSIDERATION ON SPECTRUM FOR 5G IN CHINA

1. IntroductionOn January 7th, 2016, MIIT launched 5G Technology R&D Trial to promote the development of 5G technology and standard. The 5G Trial is technically organized by IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group, and both the domestic and international companies are invited to participate in. China is also conducting studies on 5G spectrum and promoting global harmonization of higher frequency bands of 5G spectrum under WRC-19 agenda item 1.13.

This contribution introduces current status of 5G trial and preliminary considerations on spectrum of 5G in China.
