BACKGROUND

Since 2008 Business Registers in Spain receive digital Financial Statements in XBRL.

By 2016 about 88% of Annual Accounts deposited are in XBRL.

BACKGROUND

XBRL Instances include information about Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Account, State of Changes in Equity, Cash Flow Statement and Notes to the Financial Statements.

Law 5/2015 promoting SME Financing forced credit institutions to provide the SMEs a report about their financial andsolvency situation (as well as payment track record) in case of a change in their financing situation.

In June, 2016, Bank of Spain published Circular 6/2016 that defines structure and content of the “SME FinancialInformation Report”. They decided to provide the relative position of the company within its sector of activity, according toa predefined set of financial ratios.

XBRL Spain participate in technical development of the formulary (based on an Excel Sheet). The idea is to import directly aXBRL Instance from BR adding the required information to calculate the ratios and presenting the financing report.

Using the template, Registrars of Spain, give the users the option to obtain their company benchmarking in an automatedway, together (or not) with their annual accounts.

LEGAL FRAMEWORK

SME FINANCIAL INFORMATION REPORT – COMPANY DATA

The financial information is extracted from 26 concepts, that include non current commercial debts, stocks, cash andequivalents, assets, equity, debts with banks, trade creditors, suppliers, liabilities, net turnover, labour and financial costs…

SME FINANCIAL INFORMATION REPORT – SECTORAL RATIOS

This database provides information for the comparative analysis of individual corporations with aggregates of non-financialcorporations, using 29 significant ratios, and matching by size (turnover), main activity and country.

SME FINANCIAL INFORMATION REPORT - OUTCOME

Using 26 accounting items and 9 sectoral ratios, we’re able to see at a glance the position of a company within its sector ofactivity, according to its financial and solvency situation.
