Editorial: The Sabha has finally ac-
quired a property to build
Queensland Vedic Cultural
Centre in very centrally
located area in Brisbane.
There has been a huge
support of the members
and well-wishers for this
project. Members and
youths have worked very
hard to carry out renova-
$ons at the center. This
support is always required
to meet our goal of build-
ing Community Hall.

Arya Samajs 's big land purchase for Community Hall
For many years now Arya Pra$nidhi Sabha of Queensland has been inves$ng $me and effort
in chasing for a centrally located property and finally their efforts have been rewarded. Situ-
ated in a incredibly peaceful se*ng very well located at 198 Learoyd Road, Willawong/
Acacia Ridge the acreage property is a site to progress a big budget, much needed infra-
structure project of a mul$-purpose community hall to seat 500 people as well as con-
struc$ng a residen$al facility. Recognising that with an increased popula$on in Queens-
land comes increased pressure on community infrastructure and with scarcity of good com-
munity halls thus the mo$va$on to buy the property and build the community centre. This
property purchase is truly an affirma$on of our true commitment to move our community
forward to na$on building and elevate the lives of all our people.
The mul$purpose hall will be able to cater for a wide variety of func$ons, such as Havan
Yaj,Weddings, Community mee$ngs, Seminars, Training events,Library, Recep$ons, Con-
certs, Fitness classes, Recrea$onal ac$vi$es, Art classes etc.The centre will be u$-
lized promote Vedic teachings, Yoga,Medita$on, Hindi , Indian culture, Languages, Tradi-
$ons and Music. The provision of this infrastructure provides a broader community benefit
as well as it will be u$lised by various organisa$ons and individuals. Our organisa$on has
come a long way and has made a significant contribu$on to larger Indian community by pro-
mo$ng Vedic teachings, Indian culture, language and has involved younger genera$on in
ac$vi$es such as yoga, music, community, charity work etc. and providing unwavering sup-
port for a culturally diverse mul$cultural community. The purpose of the centre will be to
provide spaces where the community can run special events properly, a:end regular ac$vi-
$es and u$lise services and to ensure the facility is around for our future genera$ons. With
a residen$al house and a Yajshalla currently on the property APSQ conducts regular Havan
Yaj Satsang programme on every Sunday from 2pm.
It was very heartening to note the endorsement of the proposed project from the wider
Brisbane and Queensland community and we an$cipate their con$nued assistance to ac-
complish this significant development for various community organisa$ons and individuals.

EVOLUTIONARY PROCESS
It has become a saying that there has always been a growth, a development or an evolu$on in every sphere of life. T. Burrow,
for instance, says in ‘Sanskrit Language’ (Page 40)”Many of the changes of meaning occurred in the natural ‘growth of the lan-
guage.”
A.B. Keith has also used the word ‘Development’, saying, “From the language of the Rigveda one can trace a steady
‘development’ of classical Sanskrit.” (History of Sanskrit Literature, P.4)
F. Bopp, father of Compara$ve Philology in ‘Compara$ve Grammar of Sanskrit, Greek, La$n and other Languages, Vol.1 has
used the word ‘Development’ in this context at page 4—”Language in its stages of being and March of development.”
Some Indian philologists also who have followed western writers indiscreetly, have held the same view.
Evolu$on refuted when we compare the most ancient archaic Vedic language with the modern classical Sanskrit, we find that
the pla$tude is false and instead of ‘growth’ or ‘development’ there has been decay.
For instance —
(1) In the Vedic Leseicon (Nighantu) we have 57 synonyms of ‘Vach’ (speech) of which very few have survived in classical San-
skrit.
(2) Out of 101 names for water in Vedic Sanskrit only 27 remain in classical Sanskrit.
(3) There are 37 names for ‘Megha’ (cloud) in Vedic Sanskrit, but only 15 are to be found in classical Sanskrit.
(4) And out of 26 synonyms of ‘Karma’ in Vedic Sanskrit only 2 are leS in classical Sanskrit.
It is gra$fying to note that some dis$nguished western Indologists are also opposed to this theory of growth or evolu$on of
language. As for instance—
1. Sir William Jones says: “The Sanskrit language, whatever be its an$quity, is of a wonderful structure more perfect than
Greek, more copious than La$n and more exquisitely refined than Spanish or French.
2. Maxmuller, no great friend of India, says: ‘They have reduced the rich and powerful idiom of the poets of the Veda to the
inadequate and impure jargon of the modern sepoy (soldier of Indian origin).” (Lectures on the Science of Language, Vol.Ip.36)
Again on page 48 writes: ‘We are accustomed to call those changes ‘growth’ of language, but it would be more appropriate to
