hearts and minds to the importance of Biodiversity

• Provides the education and opportunities for the young to be responsible for their environment and to take positive actions towards sustainability.

Keep Planting Trees (KPT) - Flora

1. As a result of UNEP 2006 TUNZA ICCE Putrajaya, themed “Save A Tree, Save Our Lungs”,

- 70 wetland trees were planted with the message to Keep Planting Trees

2. In 2007 YAWA initiated Keep Planting Trees (KPT) which aims to encourage tree planting as on-going activity for people of all ages and towards conserving our Forest Biodiversity is an initiative towards Global Cooling

UNEP TUNZA INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S CONFERENCE

• In 2006, YAWA finally convinced UNEP for Malaysia to host this prestigious conference, in collaboration and with support from the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment. It was held in Putrajaya. 350 children from 150 countries attended with Malaysian children.

UNEP Global 500 Roll of Honour under the youth category.

• ANUGERAH LANGKAWI v2003, Founder and President of YAWA, Puan Khadijah Abdul

Rahman was awarded the Anugerah Langkawi by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment as a result of her work to create environmental awareness with YAWA for young people.
