Year 6 Graduation
This is the last reminder for photos of your year 6 student
for Graduation.
It is very disappointing that we have only received photos
from 6 students out of 21 families.
The Graduation Committee are working very hard to make
this a very special night for all the students and would
appreciate you support.
To avoid disappointing you child, please send a maximum
of 10 photos on a USB or hand photos in at the office for us
to scan or send via email to
bonbeach.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au or by Tuesday 15th
November.
Dogs at school. Dogs are not allowed on school premises between the hours of 8:45am and 3:45pm. Even if you know your dog is placid and wouldn’t hurt anyone, some children are scared or uncomfortable around dogs. If you do bring your dog to school for pick up or drop off, please tie them to the fence outside.
Child Safe Standards CHILD SAFE STANDARD 6: Strategies to identify and reduce or remove risks of child abuse The safety of all students at Bonbeach Primary School is paramount. We regularly review the level of risk associated with certain activities (eg playground) and take appropriate measures (eg soft fall under playground equipment) and risk controls (yard duty supervision) Bonbeach Primary School will: 1. Identify the child safety risks across the range of school environments (including excursions,
camps, online). 2. Identify any existing risk mitigation measures or existing controls. 3. Assess and rate the school’s child safety risks given the existing controls in place, taking into
account the likelihood of risk, and the likely consequence of the risk. 4. If the risk rating is more than the ‘acceptable level’, we will identify further risk management
strategies through additional treatments or other prevention, detection or mitigation strategies and then re-assess the risk (once in place these treatments will then become controls).
The risk management process is documented, recorded and reviewed periodically. Effective risk man-agement strategies are dynamic and change over time as new risks arise and others may no longer be relevant. Effective risk management strategies need to be transparent, well understood and diverse, to take account of the increased level of risk associated with the specific nature of some activities and the vulnerability of particular groups. Late Arrivals
If your child arrives late to school, they must sign-in on the iPad and take a late pass to the class teacher. Both actions are required to ensure a proper duty of care handover has occurred from home to school.
Bonbeach Farmers' Market has been a huge success for our school thanks to the hard work of a dedicated bunch of volunteers supported by a tireless Working Group. The Working Group needs more members! These are the guys who ensure the market happens month on month, organising volunteers, growing our social media presence, and posting the all-important street signs. The Group could use more people, not only for practical hands-on work but also those who can bring ideas to the table that can make our Market even bigger and better.
If you would like to join, please email jonathan.jonathangranger@gmail.com or leave your details at the front office. Mark your calendar: Next Market is this Sunday, 13
th November. For more information, visit the
website and subscribe to the e-newsletter at http://bonbeachfarmersmarket.weebly.com Jonathan Granger

2017 Booklists
Each child will be sent home with a 2017 Booklist in a couple of weeks. They are due back to the school office by Friday 2
nd December. Book collection and payment has
been scheduled for Monday 30th
January 9am to 1pm at the school. A $10 discount applies to the purchase of the complete 2017 Booklist per student if payment is made in full by Friday 2
nd December 2016.
Many families are using the Direct Deposit facility to make payments for camps, excursions and other requirements that occur during a school year. We even have some parents already making payments for their books for 2017. Most of these payments are for small amounts–some as little as $5.00 a week. It really does add up and makes major payments so easy to manage. If you would like to take advantage of this option, the Bonbeach Primary School Bank Account Details are below: Bank: CBA BSB: 063118 Account Number: 10059192 Please include your child’s name and reason for payment as the reference. This facility can be used for instalments and one off payments. Please contact the office if you have any queries.
