A message from Fr. John
Upon my return to the Parish after my summer vacation this year, in my native Ireland, I gave you all an update, in this Parish Bulletin, about my favorite nephew, Joe Murphy, who was in declining health
because of cancer. Joe died Sat. Oct. 20th. He would be 52 years old, his next birthday. His funeral was on Tues. Oct. 23rd, in his native village, Knockaderry Co. Limerick. Ireland.
I texted the following note which was read at Joe's Funeral Mass, by my best friend, Fr. Laurence Gallagher C.S.S.R. (REDEMPTORIST).-- You will recall it was the same Fr. Laurence who gave a brief Parish Mission, here in the Parish, earlier this year.
The note read: "Dear Joe, Family & Friends,
While I might be an Ocean & a Continent away, in sunny California, U.S.A. where the heat now is almost 97% as I try to pen this note, my thoughts & prayers are with you all as we all aid Joe to return to "The Home Of the Father". .
I met Joe for the first time as a baby, his mother Anne, R.I.P. , being my sister & Paddy Murphy R.I. P., his father. As a child growing up with the rest of his siblings & neighbors' children in his native village Knockaderry , he had one distinctive physical feature that distinguished him from the rest of family,---his brilliant, natural "blonde hair of curls " as a child. He would pass for any of the blonde California kids I meet here every day. Of course he lost the "blonde look", with age.
But all of us here know, Joe was a Knockaderry man at heart, lest we forget. His Family, -- GOD__ Faith__ His village neighbors, -- His love of Country and Sport, are the indelible thoughts he leaves me with. Thank Joe for the Privilege. Uncle John. U.S.A.
“GOT GRACE?”

Take a break from cooking!

“Is it Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; he is waiting for you when nothing else satisfies you.”
Pope St John Paul II
Join us for Bishop Robert Barron’s newest study and experience how the whole New Testament opens up once we see it through the person of David.
David’s kingship recalls that of Adam in the Garden of Eden, and also foreshadows that of Jesus, the son of David. Adam was the first king and steward of the rightly ordered Garden of Eden. He was called to govern the garden according to God’s mind and purposes yet he did not fulfill his kingly responsibility. Long after Adam, David emerged as the model king who would restore order in the Garden and bring the world under the lordship of God. But like Adam, David fell, and his reign ushered in a succession of compromised kings and rejected prophets...until the coming of the King of kings and the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ.

WORLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER Safety tips for parents traveling with children
Traveling with kids during the holidays can be a challenge, especially with the added worry of safety thrown into the mix. Here are some suggestions parents can use to help ensure their children’s safety while traveling: 1. Prior to leaving on your holiday, remind children about
your family safety procedures for dealing with strangers and what to do if they get lost.
2. Keep a recent photo of children handy, also a photocopy of passports kept in a safe place or with a relative that can fax it to you in case of loss.
3. If you label children’s clothing, make sure the label is inside so strangers are not able to learn child’s name.

The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, disability, sex or national and/or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs, although certain athletic leagues and other programs may limit participation and some archdiocesan schools operate as single sex schools.
While the school does not discriminate against students with special needs, a full range of services may not always be available to them.
