ill of Rights is upheld and protected
Propose effective m
easures to prevent human rights abuse
Visit prisons and places of detention or related facilities w
ith a view to
assessing and inspecting conditions of the person held in such places and m
ake recomm
endations to redress existing problems.
Establish a continuing program
me of research, education, inform
ation and the rehabilitation of victim
s of human rights abuse to enhance the
respect for and protection of human rights.
Do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainm
ent of the functions of the C
omm
ission.
