Gift from:
Today—1944—our dedication is not to a person, but rather to a spirit. Not a ghostly phenomenon that glides through the halls of school, making weird sounds and clanking rusty chains, but a spirit in the hearts of each of us who are a part of our school. It was this feeling that prompted one of our soldiers, now in Italy, to write, “When I think of home, I think of talks we used to have down at school . . .” Perhaps it’s not the material things. Those COULD be destroyed. Maybe our boys want to come back to laugh and cry and sit up all night cramming for finals. What we are talking about is the spirit of free men and happy men. That is the spirit that is making us plan for when the boys come home, and what a wonderful world we are going to make for them! Maybe Sir Arthur Pinero was right. He said: “The future is only the past again, entered through another gate.” The doorway to a bigger and better GEORGIA EVENING COLLEGE.

You of G. E. C. will agree with us that these are not only busy days, but busy nights, too.
For, like us, you serve by day and far, far into the night.
It's tough going, sometimes, but it's worth while.
