Th€ Christmas lighting contest this year will take place onWednesday, 13 December, which will also be the night for theChristmas caroling/ hayride. Marge Beitzel will be coordinating thecaroling so please call her at2l0496-5887 for specific details.Maybe it was the warm weather holding on that allowed people toggt outside and move quicker, maybejust the season closing in, butyour neighbors have been busy gefting the arca nicely decorated andreally lit up for the holidays. Kudos to everyone that has alreadydone their decorations, and good luck for some nice weather days forthose who have yet to decorate.
Did you miss Fall? Right from the 80-degree days to highs in the4O's. Gotta love the weather in Texas. Renrernber last year at thistime we were 10 inches above normal on rainfall for the year- Thisyear we are 7 inches below and pressing back into those droughtcriteria. Still, it is the holiday season, and weather or not there is funin the air.
Our local fire station is closed for a few weeks while moldremediation is completed. Our folks are temporarily located at theBulverde & 1604 fire station while repairs are completed, as repairwork had some issues. They should be able to return to the buildingwithin the next week or 2 if all goes well.
For those that noticed the addition of a CPS power pole next to ourfence in the crnve on Thousand Oaks, where the excavation debriswas left scatteredo CPS has been contacted. The rocks ttrat precludeour mowing the area will be removed/relocated.
As unfortunate as it is to have to remind anyone, yes it is theholidays. Everyone has their eye open for deals. Please be extracautious to remove all valuables from your vehicles and lock thedoors. Use extra cautinn for tlrose iterns delivered to your d€sertedhouse and left by your door- There is an element out there that likesto snag those deliveries before you do - but they didn't pay for them.So if you notice any suspicious individuals in the area, make noteand let the police know. Do not challenge anyone, but if a car isinvolved and you can getthe license plate number, ftat also helps!Have firn but keep your eyes open!
Remember to vote for your new 2018 OHPNA Board. The nextmeeting is our annual election membership meeting on 8 January atthe Disfrict l0 Council Office (1635 NE Loop 410) at7pm.Councilman Perry will be there with an update. Don't forget to sendin your mernbership so we can get the neighborhood directory outand disbibuted in a tinrely nranrrcr.
Have a very Merry Christnas season, and a Happy New Year!Printing by UPS, Blanco and 1604
