One of my favorite Lenten hymns is “My Song is Love Unknown”.
The words speak of the depth of love Jesus has for us. Nothing can stop
Jesus from loving us. What kind of king is this? It is for our sake Jesus
died.
My song is love unknown, My Savior’s love to me, Love to the love-less shown, That they
might lovely be. Oh, who am I, that for my sake My Lord should take frail flesh and die?
He came from his blest throne, Salvation to bestow; But men made strange, and none The
longed for Christ would know. But, oh, my friend, my friend in deed, Who at my need this
life did spend;
Here might I stay and sing-No story so divine! Never was love, dear King, Never was grief
like thine. This is my friend, in whose sweet praise, I all my days could gladly spend!
One of my favorite Easter hymns is “I Know that My Redeemer Lives” as it tells
what Jesus resurrection means for our daily lives as we live in faith and trust.
I know that my Redeemer lives! What comfort this sweet sentence gives! He lives, he lives,
who once was dead; He lives, my ever living head!
He lives to silence all my fears; He lives to wipe away my tears; He lives to calm my
troubled heart; He lives all blessings to impart.
He lives and grants me daily breath; He lives, and I shall conquer death; He lives my
mansion to prepare; He lives to bring me safely there.
We invite you to worship in this holy season. As we hear and enter into the story of
Jesus’ passion and resurrection. It is for us - For our sin and brokenness Jesus
died on the cross. It is for us – Jesus rose on Easter morning to conquer death to
give us life now and eternal life. BECAUSE JESUS LIVES, WE TOO SHALL
LIVE!

WEDNESDAY EVENING
LENTEN SERVICES
The Wednesday Evening Lenten Worship Services
are at 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm. During the service a
play called, ―The Life Teachers of Samuel Jacob‖
is featured. This play has Confirmation students
visiting a shut-in in the nursing home named Sam-
uel Jacob. Samuel Jacob relays stories from his
life that taught him important lessons. These
―encounters‖ with someone from the past help to
shape the man he has become. In the final play,
we realize that Samuel Jacob has become a life
teacher to the Confirmation students. You won’t
want to miss these powerful dramas and meaning-
ful worship services!

DOUBLE DUTCH
By Sharon M. Draper
Delia and her Double Dutch teammates love jump-
ing rope and hope to go to the World Double Dutch
Championships. They are extremely skilled at the
intricate footwork and timing required to be on
one of the best rope jumping teams. However,
when it comes to growing up and being in middle
school, their timing and footwork doesn’t come as
easy. There are secrets, rumors, and bullies.
What is it that middle school kids have to deal
with? How do they think, act, and feel? This book
will give the reader a glimpse of what it is like to
be in middle school.
Read the book and join us for a discussion on
April 13th at church at 5:15pm.
All are invited to join us.

a prayer for God’s creatures, and enjoy an animal-
themed movie.
Please sign up on the Children’s Ministry bulletin

All of our lives are touched by the experience of grief of some kind. We know
the pain of loss, of sickness, of death, of changes in our lives—loss of a spouse,
parent, child, friend, loss of a marriage due to separation and divorce, loss of
a job, loss of a home, loss of a pet, loss of a dream...Grief is hard and it takes
time to heal. We need to know that we are not alone in grief.
Abiding Savior is offering an excellent series of grief support called
―GROWING THROUGH LOSS”. This series can offer healing and help to
those who have experienced a recent loss, to those whose loss may have been
several years ago, and to those who would like to learn more to be able to walk
with others in grief. We personally invite you to attend and believe it will pro-
vide needed support.
The series begins on Tuesday, April 26. You are invited to the whole series or
as you are able. There is no cost but donations are accepted. Free child care
will be available as requested one week in advance.

GROWING THROUGH LOSS
OTHER MINISTRIES
“There is sacredness in tears.
They are not the mark of

tion and of unspeakable love.”

we are hurt when we lose the
object of our love. But if we

behind when what we have
held to most dearly is pulled
out of reach, beyond our

into BEFORE and AFTER, and
there was no going back to
BEFORE. But then I realized I
had a choice to live the AF-
TER. I had to decide.”
- Brenda Neal
“We have more occasion for
joy than sadness. The reason

PRAISES OF THANKSGIVING
Thank you to all who prayed for us, sent cards and ex-
tended sympathy to our family in the death of my father,
Howard Noyes. We appreciate your kindness.
Love, Bonnie and Ken Fletcher
―Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you, not as
the world gives do I give you. Let not your hearts be
troubled, neither let them be afraid.‖ Thank you for
your love and concern and all the prayers, support, and
comfort given during Byron’s many illnesses, and during
his death. We strongly felt the encouragement of many
members who were praying for us during some very diffi-
cult times in our lives. It was much appreciated. Thanks
also to Pastor Ryan and Pastor Lisa for their visits. We
thank God that Byron is at peace; therefore we are at
peace.
God’s blessing to you. Lila Ryti, Marikay and Jerry Ebert.
Dear Friends - Thanks so much for the many cards and
prayers for me when I was in the hospital and nursing
home after my fall in December. It’s such a blessing to
belong to such a caring church. Thanks to Pastor Lisa
and Pastor Ryan for visiting me at the hospital and the
New Brighton Care Center. The prayer shawl gave me
comfort and reminded me of all of you.
Much love and blessings to all, Millie Smith
What a blessing to belong to such a loving, caring family
of God. I thank you for your prayers, your cards and
phone calls I received when I was ill.
May God continue to bless us, Gean Meyers
Dear Friends at Abiding Savior,
On behalf of the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, I would like
to thank you for your donation and encourage your con-
tinued support. We are currently giving out an average
of 30,000 pounds of food each month to a record number
of residents in our area. Our food shelf relies heavily on
donations from people like you. Without your support, we
would not be able to help so many families in need. Thank
you for your generosity.
Sincerely, Lisa Baker
