GREETINGS FROM KELSEY
2014
We are 4 months in to 2014. What have you accomplished? Now is a great time
to evaluate New Years Resolutions, or just to see how far you have come and set
new goals. If you haven’t been doing much with 4-H, it is time to get in gear! Fair
will be here before you know it and there are many opportunities and things to do
before then! Let us know if you need help!
Please don’t ignore the Meat Quality requirement or you will not be allowed to
show at fair. This has been announced for 5 months, and there are no excuses for
not completing.
Have a great May!
LAST CHANCE! The last Meat Quality classes
are May 8th and May 21st. If you are taking a
Market Project (Beef, Goat, Swine, Sheep, Rab-
bit, Poultry) this is MANDATORY! (see page 2)
You will not be able to show at fair without it.

Attention all Park County FFA & 4-H Market Swine Owners:
There has been a lot of talk and concern about the swine disease PEDv. As of now there are confirmed cases of it in the State of Wyoming but they are in the SE corner.
In light of this information, the Park County Junior Livestock Sales Committee does not feel that it would be responsible to en-courage the spread of this disease. The way we have been doing our swine tagging would no doubt spread it if someone in our area happened to have it. Therefore, we are going to do things differently this year.
You will be responsible for tagging your own animal this year. Tags and consignment sheets will be available, starting the last week of April, at Sage Wealth Management in Powell and Big Horn Glass in Cody, Monday through Friday during normal busi-ness hours. We will also have tags and consignment sheets available during lamb tagging. Lamb tagging will be done as normal.
When you return your consignment sheets, we are requiring all pig owners to turn in a full-body photograph of the pig and one up close enough so the ear tag can be read. The photos can be either printed and sent with consignment sheet or emailed to [email protected]. The consignment sheets and pictures are still due May 25th.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES are any pigs to be brought to the tagging sites. This change is for this year only! The com-mittee will reevaluate tagging at our annual fall meeting.
Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Joe Bridges at 307-272-2324.
