The Happenings Around the Club

The weather has turned to fall now that it is November. Cooler temperatures have stopped the growth of the Bermuda. The rough was topped one last time in late October at 1.5 inches. This is a good height for us going into the winter because it protects the turf through the colder months. Just before the turf breaks dormancy next spring we will mow all the rough down to 3/4 inch. We will maintain the rough at this height for as long as we can.

We did not overseed again this year and we have raised the mowing heights on all tees, fairways, and approaches. The

higher heights of cut will help protect the turf during the winter. These areas are also going to receive small amounts of fertilizer, iron, and colorants to keep them green for as long as we can going into winter.

If you ever have any questions or concerns about the golf course or grass in general, please ask. See you on the course!
