The most recent recording of the difference in pay between men and women in New Zealand is 9.4%. Many businesses aren’t aware of the potential impact differences in pay between not only genders, but between classes of work, can impact their workforce. With that in mind, this session will focus on how HR can utilise data to identify differences in pay within their business, and how these inequalities can be addressed and eradicated by HR’s own data analysis going forward.

3.30 Thriving through digital: What does it take to transition from a successful analogue organisation to a successful digital leader?

Organisations today want to go digital, but wanting to go digital, and succeeding, are two very different things. We have case studies of what digital looks like and what’s involved in the process, however these are overwhelmingly digital and cloud-native companies. You know them - Uber, AirBnB, Amazon and Google. Owen explores the issues that make it difficult for analogue organisations to successfully digitally transform, what can be done to improve your odds at success, and the role HR plays in this company-wide endeavour.

Data is power: Defining needs by generation

Today’s employees are living longer, and working longer, creating a workforce made up of multiple generations, each with different skill levels, needs, expectations and capabilities. This intensive workshop will show you why organisations need to shift their attention to their ageing workforce to not only better understand the divides between employees, but to create a more inclusive, productive, and therefore, competitive, workforce. This workshop will focus on what HR data can tell us about today’s employees, and how businesses can use this insight to improve job satisfaction, talent retention and culture, and ultimately, understand their workforce better.

• Pull meaningful insights from your HR data to learn more about each generational segment of your workforce

• Understand the diverse needs and values of your workforce • Define the technology capabilities of each generation in your workforce while

identifying areas where staff need to upskill • Learn how to ensure all staff are heard, catered for, and supported in a

workforce made up of thousands of staff • Understand how change and disruption impacts each generation of workers

differently • Understand and address the challenges of your ageing workforce

Hands-on: Making data accessible to all through dashboards

What’s the point of all that data sitting in data lakes and the cloud if only a few employees understand what it means? From recruitment and performance management to identifying an employee who is on the verge of leaving, dashboards for HR data analytics are a way of showing everyone, regardless of skill-level, what’s going on in the company. In this practical workshop, you’ll learn about the importance of efficient dashboards for converting complex data sets into meaningful visualisations to then present to your team and the wider business.

• Get an in-depth introduction to dashboard creation for HR analytics • Learn what components make a good dashboard • Learn how to build your own dashboard • Learn how to display your data in a meaningful way • Learn about metric creation and which should be included to get the most

out of your data • Examples of HR analytics dashboards and a review of the best HR software

out there for dashboard creation
