Abraham Lincoln’s parents were Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hawkins.
He was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky. His birthday was February 12,1809

Election
Abraham Lincoln was elected in 1860 He was elected to the Illinois General Assembly. On the ballot in North Carolina Lincoln wasn’t a nominee cause
most North Carolinians didn’t like him. But he still won with 1,865,908 votes and 180 electoral votes.
He is the 16th president of the United States.

Gettysburg Address
President Lincoln wrote the Gettysburg Address on November 19, 1863.
It was 272 words and took 3 minutes to give the speech. “… That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom –
and that is government of the people, by the people, for the people, that shall not parish from this earth.” This was part of his speech.
He wrote it after the Gettysburg Battle.

Abraham Lincoln helped with the Emancipation Proclamation.

Assassination
He was assassinated on April 14th 1865John Wilkes Booth shot him in the back
during a play at Ford’s Theater.He died the next day at 7:22 am.
