VINCENT, Earl W., 1886-1953
VINCENT, Earl W., a Representative from Iowa; born in Washington County, near Keota, Iowa, March 27, 1886; attended the rural schools; was graduated from Keota High School in 1904, from Monmouth (Ill.) College in 1909, and from the law department of the University of Iowa at Iowa City in 1912; was admitted to the bar in 1912 and commenced practice in Guthrie Center, Iowa; prosecuting attorney of Guthrie County 1919-1922; member of the Iowa house of representatives 1923-1927; elected as a Republican to the Seventieth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of William R. Green and served from June 4, 1928, to March 3, 1929; unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1928; resumed the practice of law in Guthrie Center, Iowa; delegate to the Republican State convention in 1930; appointed judge of the fifth judicial district of Iowa in February 1945, and served until his death in Guthrie Center, Iowa, May 22, 1953; interment in Union Cemetery.

City in 1912; was admitted to the bar in 1912 and oonuneneed practice in Guthrie Center, Iowa;
prosecuting attorney of Guthrie Connty 1919-1922;
member of the Iowa house of representatives 1923-1921. elected as a Republican to the Seventieth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation ofWdliam R.
Green andservedfromJnne4, 1928, to March a, 1929;
nnsuecessfnl candidate for renomination in 1928;
resnnted the practice of law in Guthrie Center, Iowa;
delegate to the Repnblican State convention in 1930; appointed judge of the fifth judicial district of Iowa in
February 1945, and served nntil his death in Guthrie
Center, Iowa, May 22, 1953; interment in Union
Cemetery.
