This is a computer generated image of Anglo-Continental. Many large trees in the gardens make it difficult to take a photograph of the entire campus.

Welcometo Anglo-ContinentalThe Anglo-Continental Educational Group is

one of the world's best known English language

teaching organisations. It is accredited by the British

Council and is a member of English UK. Anglo-

Continental is also regularly inspected by the

    Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).

Anglo-Continental is an approved Training Centre for

the University of Cambridge Certificate in English

Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). Full-time and

    Part-time CELTA Courses are available.

The Centre's Training Course for the Cambridge

Certificate in CELTA provides pre-service training for

those who wish to enter the profession and have had

little or no formal training or experience.

With its careful selection process, Anglo-Continental

works hard to maintain its CELTA pass rate of 98%. Of

these students 30% obtained an A or B grade in 2012.

For those not yet sure whether English language teaching is

for them, a TEFL Taster Day can also help with decision-

making, providing a glimpse of a teachers life in a busy

    language school.

NigelReturning to part-time education was for me an extremelydaunting prospect. However, I found the course tutorsextremely supportive and understanding of the difficulties Iwould and did encounter. The biggest surprise was thesupport so freely offered by my fellow students, it was anamazing experience. The course itself, was less pressuredbecause it took place over four months rather than 4

weeks, thereby enabling students to really absorb the ideas and put intopractice what they had been taught the day before. Assignments were wellspaced out and the feedback from the tutors was both invaluable andexcellent. The teaching practice was also extremely valuable and the

feedback discussions after teaching from both the tutors and fellow studentswere positive, constructive and very encouraging. I would thoroughlyrecommend that anyone considering doing a CELTA course should considerthe part-time course at Anglo-Continental.

TestimonialsLeydaMy four-week CELTA was an excellent course and I learnta tremendous amount. It was a very intensive four-weekperiod, yet highly enjoyable too and the tutors and fellowtrainees, all working as a team, helped me to overcomemoments of self-doubt.

It was a very interactive and participatory course and Iwas encouraged to be creative, which in turn built my confidence in theclassroom. Overall it was a steep, but rewarding learning experience and it

provides you with great foundations to build on as a teacher of English.

LukeI was very impressed by how practical the course wasand being able to get up and teach from day onereally increased my confidence right from the start. The tutors were very supportive and were always thereto give you new ideas. The feedback sessions were anexcellent way to help us plan and improve the nextlessons. Overall an incredibly intensive month, but

one that really equips you with the skills needed to go into a realclassroom!

DebbieThe CELTA has to be the best course I have done.Teaching practice was built up slowly and my peerswere my support network. You are never thrown in atthe deep end but are given detailed lesson plans tofollow that you slowly add to over the four weeks. Itsimportant that trainees feel safe to make mistakes andthis is definitely a supportive and positive learning

environment where trainees are encouraged and nurtured.

Tutor feedback to trainees is daily, so you always know how you areperforming and what you need to do to improve. You also observeexperienced tutors teaching so that you have a good understanding of

what good teaching looks like. Anglo-Continental also has an excellentlibrary of teaching resources for trainees to access, as well as the latestteaching software in its classrooms that you will be taught how to use.So, put four weeks of your life aside (including all evenings andweekends!), do the pre-reading of recommended texts and start theintensive CELTA - you will not regret it.
