a. Mother eagle will hover above her youngb. Eaglets begin to flap their wingsc. They can’t fly yet, but imitate in responsed. Jesus demonstrated the kind of faith and

life we should be living (Rom 5:8; 1 Tim 1:16)

e. God gave us a living demonstration in Jesus

a. Eaglets reluctant to get near the edge of the nestb. The adult eagle begins to stir up the nest

a. Pokes holes through the bottom; b. Slowly tears the nest apart

c. God stirs up our nest; getting us ready for a change

d. King David said in (Ps 119:67)e. God wants us to fly

2. Discomfort Stage

a. A danger or crisis forces us off the “fence”b. Nest is suddenly gone. . . ground

approaching fast!!!c. Fly or Fail; Soar or Smash; Live or Died. God takes us to this place at times during

our lifee. Ruts can last a long timef. (Isaiah 40:28-31)

3. Decision Stage

a. Falling eaglets must change direction quickly

b. Must start going up instead of downc. We must also respond to God by changing

direction a. He calls us to repentance

a. Decide to change life’s directionb. Turn from evil, and turn back towards God

b. Godly sorrow produces repentance (2 Cor 7:10)

a. The adult eagle can teach her young to fly, but she cannot fly for them

b. Flying takes individual effort from each one (Gal 6:5)

c. Created for good works (Eph 2:10)

5. Doing Stage

a. “He spread His wings and caught them, He carried then on His pinions.” Deut 32:11b

b. An adult eagle will swoop down and catch her falling offspring on her back, and carry them back up to the perch.

c. God rescues us! (2 Tim 3:11; Ps 34:19; 2 Pet 2:9)

d. We must be striving to fly even if we can’t do it yet

6. Deliverance Stage

a. Are you allowing God to train you to fly? Are you cooperating or clinging? Are you reluctant in the “safety” of the nest?

b. Be sure that God will stir it up. He wants you to fly.

a. You can ignore it, but it will not stop His processb. You can resist it, but it will not stop His process

c. Or . . . you can release yourself to His will, and He will train you to do what He created you for . . . “Flying”
