1. IntroductionFrom a Career Concept
development point of view, the conscientization of career counselling process is important to effectively perform a career counselling session by becoming aware of a continuous cycle of construction, deconstruction, and reconstruction of Career Story (Kayano et. al., 2009).
We have created software called CareeTalk. This software takes the formatted transcript, separates the transcript into utterances, and provides statistical analysis based on the frequency of the Expressional Methods.
We will demonstrate how CareeTalk works, and provide how the transcript analysis can be used to help the counsellor.
An Utterance is defined as a string of words that express a certain organized meaning. In addition, the following are considered “utterances”;
(i) An interrupted utterance(ii) A pause in conversation(iii)A quasi-utterance
3.Basice of Utterance Classification - Unit of Utterance Classification
Transcripts must be formatted in a certain manner so that utterances can be classified, and we use Careetalk to generate statistical data. There are 10 rules to formatting.
