ANOTHER PROUD MOMENT

It is an another proud moment for all HITAMITESthat our beloved chairman Mr. Prashanth Arutla has beennominated as the executive council member of JNTUHby the Government of Telangana state. It’s indeedanother feather added on his cap. So, the students,teaching and non teaching staff felt proud of the momentand conveyed their best wishes to the chairman on hisappointment. Further to inform that the chairman hasalso been awarded the "Green Institutional Mentor"award from Mahatma Gandhi National Council for RuralEducation (MGNCRE), Ministry of Human ResourceDevelopment, Govt. of India. The award is beingconferred on such personalities for promotingprofessionalism and capacity building in water andsanitation management in educational institutions.

In this regard,National Science Day was organized onHITAM’s campus on 28th Feb, 2020. It’swell known that the IndianNational Science Day is celebrated tocommemorate the path- breaking discoveryof the "Raman Effect" by the Indianphysicist C V Raman. In order to developthe scientific temper among the students,Department of Science and Humanities,HITAM conducted various competitions,such as Poster Presentation, Quiz, ProjectExpo, and group tasks.

It’s quite evident that the present generation lives by and liveswith short films. We find a variety of short films produced on multiple themes that dealwith contemporary issues and prevailing subjects. On the same lines, a group ofstudents of HITAM proved their talent in making a short film on a contemporary issue. Bharath Sandeep and Vishal of III year accepted a 48 hours challenge from Youtubeand made a film titled "Ramchandra Puram", which is on the themes of belief andsuperstition in rural areas. For their best efforts in making the film, the organizersCAPTD nominated "Ramachndra Puram" as the best film and Bharath as the bestdirector. HITAM encourages all such activities to find their path

TOWARDS THE ACADEMIC FREEDOM

NAAC Peer Team Visit

HITAM initiated the National Assessment And Accreditation (NAAC) process to achieve the highestgrade, strive to be the best welcomed peer team on 7th and 8th March 2020 to its campus. The teamhad visited the campus and happy to witness various facilities of the institution. The team collectedacademic information, such as the institutional achievements, teaching and learning practices, researchoutput, innovate and the best practices of all departments. As part of the assessment, they interacted withthe teaching staff, non teaching staff, and parents of the students and with the alumni. All the staffmembers of HITAM who participated in the interaction cooperated with the team and responded aptly. Theteam also attended a cultural show performed by the students at amphitheater. Team members, afterwatching the program, appreciated the magnificent performances of the students and also appreciated themanagement for encouraging students in a variety of co and extracurricular activities. After completing theinspection, the institution chairman, Sri Prashanth Arutla thanked all the staff for their unbounded supportduring the visit of NAAC team..

Women's Day

International Women’s Day was celebratedon 8 March2020 at HITAM seminar hall. It iscelebrated to remind every women working inthe college of the unique identity they hold. It is aneed for celebrating and a reason topause and review the strength they are giftedwith, to honor and admire.

With regard to the international women’s day, HITAM hosted a program coordinated byWomen Empowerment Cell. The chief guests for the program, Dr. Roohi and Dr. Bhavanispoke on various subjects and issues related to women. They also emphasized on thewomen’s rights and women empowerment for the nation building.

The vision of HITAM ‘To be a university which nurtures the students with competencies to become confidentabout their career and to contribute the Society’ extends the activities beyond classrooms.With related to the vision statement seems true that HITAM CDC is taking many initiation in skilldevelopment and career building programs. It intends to creat young entrepreneurs, proposed 12 business programs toMSME (Ministry of small and medium industry). CDC- HITAM under the leadership of, Mr.Daniel prabhakar spearheaded the programs to reach the target level in a short period of time and sureto achieve the expected outcomes. HITAM CDC also taken another initiation of churning the students more confidentabout their career and to contribute the society, it organized many programs in the month of March 2020, like; CDC March– 2020 Training Programs Organized, Long term On campus GRE coaching sessions by VDIEC Global Connect Pvt Ltdfor aspiring II/III/IV year students, Organised Aptitude training for I year students, Career Skills Program for II Years. HITAM Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) organized 25 Days Start Improve Your Business (SIYB)Entrepreneurship Skills Development Program (ESDP) in association with Micro Small Medium Enterprises(MSME). SIYB is a well-structured management training program with dent on generating business ideas, managing start-ups to create wealth for the owners and job opportunities for the youth as well. MSME BusinessIncubation Center -HITAM: Under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Incubation scheme BusinessIncubator (BI) / Host Institutions (HI) 12 business proposals have been submitted in the following areas EnvironmentalManagement, Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Green Technology, Health care and Life Sciences,Safety, Health care and Life Sciences, Agriculture, Safety, Agriculture, Food & Beverages, Education.Kudos! ONLINE CLASSES

When the entire world has been gripped byturmoil and devastation by the COVID- 19pandemic, HITAM has yet again taken thelead of ensuring students health safety, whilecontinuing providing opportunities to carry on withtheir studies even during this critical phase.The state and central government declaredcomplete lock down till 03 May. Duringthese difficult times, as students worried aboutbacklog classes, remedial classes in time, HITAMcontinued to provide academic support with onlineclasses focusing on remedial and back logsclasses as well as gym, Psychology and yogaclasses.

NGO formed by HITAM students, ‘FOR A CAUSE’ which adopts and helps Governments schoolsfor the basic necessities. Every year it conducts a fund raising event called Gala Night. It is an event wherestudents pay 400 rupees and register themselves and spend the whole night in the campus with theirfriends .It includes Live Music by famous Vivid Team, movie Night, DJ, Dinner, Camp fire and Night stay. Itwas organised on 07th February and lasted till the next day morning 6:00 AM. It gave students a verywonderful experience staying the whole night in the green lush campus. It will definitely remain as amemorable event in their life. College authority gave full support for this great event and has boned theexpenses for the arranging supplies and bedding for the students and the faculty coordinators wasmonitoring all through. The team FOR A CAUSE re-dedicated themselves towards social responsibility.Apart from this Gala Night they collected funds through network sheets though the major collection of thefund happened through Gala Night. It’s a great thing to know that after all expenses we collected a total of93,000 rupees from the Gala Night 3.0. It was possible only with the support from one and all. The teamsold the Diyas for Diwali which were made by boys from the Juvenile school so that they don’t commit thesame mistakes when they are out again. We did this to tell them that their talent lies in some other placeother than the crimes. We as a team went offered lunch and spent time with them and gave them somebooks, sports accessories etc. We have also adopted an orphan to bear his expensesevery month. We want to expand the number in future. We did blanket drive on December 24th 2019 inwhich we have collected blankets from our friends, family etc., and went on to the roads to distributeblankets for the people who are homeless and beggars near Secunderabad Railway station. They did anevent called fist full of rice in which we promoted people to donate a fistful of rice to donate to an orphanagein the beginning of the academic year. As a responsible NGO, now in this Corona pandemic time they didan event called FEED THE NEEDY where they fed around 200 people who don’t have anythingto eat near venkatapuram to kompally stretch. They have also raised the fund of Rs 84000 to help the poorpeople. As an NGO our students felt responsible towards our society and contributing to the needy,recently cause team distributed 5 Quintilian through sarpanch in gnanapur village.

I am Karthik born in agriculture background

.What is your family background?

family, my father does farming till date and my mother is homemaker. We livein a village called Devar Yamjal near medchal.

I have one younger sister who is currently doing her undergraduate program in Loyala academ,Suchitra,Hyderabad.

About your sibling?

No there are couple of engineers in our family who have completed their degrees from reputed college andare working abroad currently.

Are you to the first generation engineer in your family?

I change four schools to complete my 10th class and did my intermediate in Sri Chaitanya junior College,Kukatpally. I had an experience of going to school by RTC bus travelling a long distance. It was fun I wasenjoying drawing, painting and lot of practical art.Still my mum reminds me the creative work I carried outduring my childhood. If I attempt it now my hands shiver.

My sister and I had an objective of becoming doctors. Both of uscollectively hated engineering and loved medicine. Apparently Ijoined engineering and she drop the idea of joining medicine.

What was the objective when you were in school? Did anyoneinfluence you in school?

when I went through the statistics of how many seats exist in medicine and engineering course and howengineering has scope of changing the lives of people, I have drop the idea of working to crack medicineentrance. That was the turning point of my life i feel.

Were there any turning point experience in the school?

I did not know about HITAM before I opted in web counseling.I chose as the campus is within the vicinity.Why did you choose HITAM?

I never had dreams of joining IIT and was never very particular about somecollege.Just wanted to learn engineering.

What were the other available options?

I got a rank around 30000 in EAMCET and this was the best available optionduring web counseling. But when I went to report the college. I had seen one oldtree near the gate. It was intentionally not removed by the management through itwas obstructing the passage. I understood the philosophy of the college and feltthat they certainly would take care of students need.

How did you to filter?

Nothing specific I was lagging behind in academic and had four backlogs in first yearWas there any specific plan to accomplish this goal?

SSDC is the biggest initiative what for me at HITAM. I randomly attended the interview selection ofwhat do you think worked for you to at HITAM?

SSDC. I was selected . prof. Vinod Kumar Ahuja has been guiding me in learning and keeping myselfupdated. I got support from the professor, without me asking for it. He is the one who could sense my needand filled confident in whenever I was low. I never had backlogs joint SSDC I was. spending lot of time inSSDC and gained positive energy.

whatsaap is the most damaging pastime hobby if not used properly, SSDC wasand will be the answer for me to overcome it.

.What are the most damaging pastime hobbies in Hyderabad according to you andhow did you overcome?

I involve myself in reading for EEE magazines, watching technologicalinterventions related to agriculture which are successful abroad and notimplemented in India yet. I have also spend my time in supporting projectsrelated to the technology in SSDC.

How did you manage time? Most of the time must have gone in travelling?

to the regular academic we have SSDC, SSG, EPICS, UBA, EWB, GCSB, Pallesrujana, Toastmaster affinity club and many more. The best way to engagemeaningful is to choose one of the initiative. Participate in any of these activitiesbrings discipline and commitment from the Student.

What will you be?Currently I am working as intern in one of the reputed company and they are ready to take me as aregular employee once I complete my BTech.

What are some specific future plans on your career? I am planning to go for higher education abroad
