Urbanization

Migrants move from rural areas in search of jobs and a better quality of life, so occupations and lifestyles become urban. Population becomes concentrated in urban areas through migration and natural increase.

What is urbanization?

Urbanization is an increase in the proportion of people living in towns and cities, and is closely linked to development.

Development leads to a shift in the economy from primary industry to secondary, tertiary and quaternary industries.
