Three basic things are needed for salt flats to form:

◆Source of salts, usually from a large drainage system （排水系統） .

◆Enclosed （圍繞） basin （流域） that doesn't drain （流出） to the sea and wash away the salts.

◆Arid climate （乾燥氣候） where evaporation （蒸發） exceeds （超過）precipitation （降雨量） , leaving behind just the salts and fine silt （淤沙） .
