PAYROLL INFORMATION All employees are paid twice per month -

typically on the 10th and 25th

Most staff receive 24 pay checks per year Teachers receive July & August checks at

the end of June

HIGH DEDUCTIBLE HEALTH PLAN (HDHP)

Benefit(s) of HDHP: High deductible health insurance plans typically cost less than traditionally lower deductible

coverage Offer substantial coverage for a wide range of services One deductible per family

Premium - amount of money that an individual and/or business must pay for an insurance policy. 14% of the premium paid by employee/86% paid by CWASD Premiums are pro-rated for less than fulltime

Deductible - the amount of expenses that must be paid out of pocket before an insurer will pay any expenses

Out of Pocket Maximum – the most that an employee will pay for medical expenses in a year

Co-insurance - Your share of the costs of a covered health care service, calculated as a percentage (our plan is 20%) of the allowed amount for the service. You pay coinsurance after you’ve met your deductible. For example, if the health insurance plan’s allowed amount for an office visit is $100 and you’ve met

your deductible, your 20% coinsurance payment would be $20. The health insurance plan pays the rest.

HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT (HSA)

HSAs: An account created for individuals who are covered under

high-deductible health plans (HDHPs) to save for medical expenses that HDHPs do not cover (including deductibles)

Contributions are made into the account by the individual or the individual's employer and are limited to a maximum amount each year

The contributions are invested over time and can be used to pay for qualified medical expenses, which include most medical care such as dental, vision and over-the-counter drugs

employees (does not extend to other family members) LTD criteria for collection of benefit:

Must be continuously totally disabled before monthly benefits become payable and after 60 consecutive calendar days

Once claim is approved monthly benefits are payable at 90% of your regular monthly earnings

automatically enrolled into the WRS Fixed Trust Fund. If you choose to, you may also elect to participate in the Variable Trust Fund The Variable Trust Fund is invested primarily in

common stocks. Those participating in the Variable Trust Fund must be prepared for the possibility that poor stock market performances could result in investment losses
