General guidelines for Unpacking & Repacking of welding tool :

Unpacking:

Lift from side with lift to avoid damage to electronics located behind front of door panel of transport crate.

Open the locks on blue storage crate and slide out from side. Unscrew “transport safety metal bar” located in planer/heater carriage. Do NOT lose bar.

(exhibit A) Unlock “travel pin” secured on heater. (exhibit B) Unlock insert drawer cabinet. Do NOT lose key. (exhibit C) Plug in separate Power Transformer (208 V – 3 phase). (exhibit D)

Note:

- Remove pipe in master clamps before turning on machine (machine will not electronically calibrate with pipe inserted).

- If a Power Supply error occurs after turning on machine, phase adjustment needs to be performed by calling Asahi America direct at (800) 343-3618, ask for Dave Hume in Tool Rental Dept.

Return Packup:

After switching off SP250-S wait 1 hour (at least) to allow cooling of heating element. Unplug transformer from tool and strap down securely to skid. (exhibit D) Checklist provided with each tool and should be reviewed to account and return all items sent

(i.e. spare blades, all welder code cards, end caps, misc. tools, clamping inserts). Secure Heater/Planer: Slide carriage over to right and insert “transport safety metal bar” by

screwing down. (exhibit A) Lock Heater: Turn black lever near heater to stop any movement. (exhibit B) Lock Insert door: Return all inserts to marked designated metal cases and put in cabinet below

and lock with key. (exhibit C) Insert sample pipe in master clamps.

Storage of SP250-S Transport case:

Store blue crate in dry, weather-resistant conditions and avoid high fluctuations in temperature.
