AGASL recommendation

The Committee has stated its support for recommendation put forward by AGASL that there is a need for an independent review into the implementation of ASL and asks Scottish Government to endorse the recommendation made by AGASL.

I can confirm that I too support the recommendation made by AGASL and its alignment with the commitment I made to as part of the presumption of mainstreaming debate on 30 January to undertake an independent review of the implementation of ASL, including where children learn. I am clear that this must be done in partnership and officials are currently working with COSLA and ADES to scope out and agree terms of reference. Once these have been agreed I will be more than happy to share them with the Committee.
