MESSAGE

India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) presents AAHAR – the 35th edition of the International Food & Hospitality Fair in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi for March 03 - 07, 2020.

The fair has evolved into a prime global platform for promoting the food processing and associated sectors, and in the process, has been creating synergies for growth, modernization and upgradation of the food industry at large. Apart from business expansion, and brand promotion of MSMEs, it also offers an opportunity for companies to reconfigure their supply chains, logistics and business models.

‘AAHAR’ is poised to grow substantially in size after completion of redevelopment of Pragati Maidan into a world class International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) at Pragati Maidan. Covering a gross area of around 40,000 sq. mtrs, in Halls 7,8,9,10,11,12 and 12A, and Hangers 7 FGH, H7F, and H7A along with new halls of IECC namely A3 (GF), A4 A (GF), A4 B (GF), the fair has elicited over 750 participants from India and overseas. The foreign participation from countries including Hong Kong, Israel, Indonesia, Japan, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, UK and UAE.

The event is being organized by India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) as well as its associates, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Development Authority (APEDA) and apex industry bodies.

I am pleased to note that Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) is organizing the 35th edition of its much spoken about International event AAHAR – The International Food & Hospitality Fair 2020.

HOTREMAI has been supporting this event since its inception and shall continue to do so. HOTREMAI extends its support by participating in reputed events by ITPO in New Delhi and other cities in India as well as abroad and negotiate its best in favor of its members. HOTREMAI is also the co-associates of ‘AAHAR’ – the biggest International Food & Hospitality Fair organized by Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (the premier trade promotion body of the Government of India) every year in PragatiMaidan, New Delhi. We extend our support and facilitate our members to get space in AAHAR exhibition for their hassle-free participation.

HOTREMAI is moving ahead in a planned manner to up its role both for the fraternity and its members. We hold associate memberships in bodies like the FICCI, ASSOCHAM and PHD Chambers of commerce where the Government inter-actions are made easy on the Association level. Hotremai in turn keeps all its Members abreast with the happenings and the suggestions from the members are conveyed to the respective bodies so as to enable a 2-way communication, directly with a Hotremai Member.

This brings productive results for our Industry, especially during Budget suggestions and recommends towards other Government policies, while being drafted. An individual Member on his own cannot get this kind of reach.

A ProfileITPO, the premier trade promotion agency of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Government of India), is committed to showcase excellence achieved by the country in diverse fields especially trade and commerce. It is a Mini Ratna Category-I CPSE of the Government of India.ITPO provides a wide spectrum of services to trade and industry and acts as a catalyst for growth of India’s trade. ITPO has an extensive infrastructure as well as marketing and information facilities that are availed by both exporters and importers. It assists buyers seeking information relating to sourcing products from India and providing opportunities for India’s trade and investment.ITPO organises national level participation in major overseas trade fairs and exclusive India Sourcing Fairs showcasing the best of India globally. Participation in events is based in line with the market opportunities and keeping in view the Government’s FOCUS programme for countries in Latin America, Africa and CIS countries. Currently ITPO organises India Pavilions in more than 70 events globally. Some of the prominent overseas events in which ITPO organises participation in Sial Food Fair, Paris (France), AF-L Artigiano de Fiera – Milan (Italy), Summer Fancy Food Show, New York(USA), Africa Big Seven/SAITEX and Automechanika in Moscow (Russia), Thessaloniki Intl. Fair, Thessaloniki (Greece), Medica, Dusseldorf (Germany), Fiera Del Levante-Bari (Italy), AAPEX, Las Vegas (USA) besides popular India Shows in Osaka (Japan) organised by ITPO viz. – India Garment Fair, India Silk Fair and India Home Furnishing Fair.ITPO plans to organise 13 domestic events, besides Shopping Festivals in major Cities during 2020-21. In order to promote exports and trade overseas; ITPO has also proposed organising participation in 79 B2B & B2C overseas events during the period 2020-21 besides assisting third party organiser in organising nearly 75 exclusive trade events in Pragati Maidan.ITPO’s regional offices at Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai through their respective profile of activities, ensure a concerted and well coordinated trade promotion drive throughout the country. ChENNAI TRADE CENTREThe Chennai Trade Centre is managed by TNTPO, a Joint venture of ITPO and TIDCO. Chennai Trade Centre was setup in 2001 over an area of 25.48 acres of land in Nandambakkam a prime location in Chennai. Hall 1 & 2 were constructed in 2001 encompassing an area of 6160 square meters. The Convention Centre constructed in 2004 can accommodate 2000 participants with a provision for dividing the hall into two equal parts. Hall 3 measuring 4400 square meter was inaugurated in 2008. All the three Exhibition Halls and Convention Centre

are interconnected. All the exhibition halls are air-conditioned and are without pillars or columns.During 2019-20, 101 exhibitions were held in the Exhibition Halls of Chennai Trade Centre and 78 events took place in the Convention Centre. The Board of TNTPO has approved the construction of a multi-purpose (Exhibition/Convention) hall with an area of 20,322 square meters under expansion plan of TNTPO at an approved cost of Rs.289 crore. After the expansion, there will be a total of 2 convention centres and 5 halls for exhibitions in the total area of 39,952 sq.mtrs. in an area of 34.61 acres of land.TRADE CENTRE, BENGALuRuLocated at a prime area in Whitefield, Bengaluru, it covers an area of 48.35 acres. It has an air-conditioned Exhibition Hall of 5,371 sq. mtrs., 11 open exhibition areas have been constructed all around the exhibition hall for display of heavy equipments and machineries and for setting up of Food Courts, Business Centre etc. The Trade Centre is being managed by Karnataka Trade Promotion Organisation (KTPO), a joint venture of ITPO and Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB). During 2019-20, 41 events were held in Trade Centre, Bengaluru. The Board of KTPO has approved the construction of a multi-purpose (convention/exhibition) hall with an area of 7633 sq. mtrs. under expansion plan of KTPO. Today ARCHII, is a well recognized platform to discuss contracts, for interaction between members, to look after the interest of members, to regulate and standardize and as far as possible to adopt ethical business practice in the Hospitality trade. ARCHI sponsors and support various conferences, exhibitions and lectures along with investigation, collecting and circulation of information and statistics relating to the Hospitality trade. It also educates its members and general public by all suitable means about the benefits and utilities of environmental technology from the hygienic point of view.

Being a democratic body and having gone into regular elections of its executive committee, it helps in settlement of disputes by reconciliation among the members and Hospitality institutions.

AIFPA— INDIA’S PREMIER & PIONEER ASSOCIATION OF FOOD PROCESSORS, BY ThE FOOD PROCESSORS, FOR ThE FOOD PROCESSORS AND FOOD INDuSTRYVISION OF AIFPAAll India Food Processors’ Association (AIFPA) was established in the year 1943 by some highly motivated and visionary processors mainly involved in the processing of fruits and vegetables.Subsequently, the Association took in its fold, processors from other sectors of the food processing industry and now it has in its ambit the food processors involved in processing of Fruits & Vegetables, Meat and poultry, Fish, Milk & Milk products, Cereals and Pulses and manufacture of a wide range of processed food products. These include fruit juices and nectars, jams, jellies and marmalades, breads, buns, biscuits and bakery products like cakes & related confectionery items, various types of milk products and yoghurts, ready-to- eat foods, confectionery items, various ethnic delicacies etc. including other stake holders like food Associations, Plant & Machinery manufacturers, Food Scientists/Technologists, service providers etc. Member Industries account for a large percentage of the total production of processed foods in India as well as that of total exports of processed food products.Since its inception, AIFPA had been significantly contributing to the development and growth of the food processing in all sectors of agri-horti commodities and thereby helping in reducing the enormous losses of perishable commodities occurring in the country.MISSION OF AIFPAThe prime objectives of the Association include the following:-a) To promote, encourage and support Indian Food Processing Industries and

raise the technical standards, product quality and safety to not only meet the prescribed Indian Standards for safe food as laid down by the FSSAI but and also to match global standards so that Indian processed food products can have a good export market.

b) To actively participate in evolving quality standards & safety measures under the Food Safety and Standards Act-2006.

c) To seek redressal of the problems of the food processing industry that impede their growth and development by keeping a close liaison and interaction with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and other Govt. agencies .

d) To conduct Workshops & Training Programmes to acquaint the persons operating the food processing industry about GMP, GHP, HACCP &FSMS

e) To collect, classify and circulate statistics and other information relating to production of agri-horti produce, production of processed foods in India and agri-food exports from India.

g) To conduct and promote market research/market studies in India and abroad to enable the growth of the Food Processing Industries and help in the growth of marketing of processed food products.

h) To institute Awards and Scholarships to encourage Food Scientists and Technologists to evolve and develop newer processed foods which can widen and enlarge the market for processed foods.

i) To keep a good liaison with Govt. both with the Central & State administrators, consultants and executives who can help in the growth and development of the Food Processing Industries in India.

j) To publish a bimonthly technical Journal under the name “Indian Food Packer” which is over 72 years old and a monthly “E-Newsletter” as non-profit activities, which aim to keep the food processing units abreast of the latest worldwide developments in Food Processing, new products & processes, food additives, research programmes, food regulatory issues etc.

LIAISON WITh RESEARCh INSTITuTIONSThe Association maintains a close liaison with the Research Institutions like the Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore; Defence Food Research Laboratory, Mysore; Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, National Institute of Food Technology & Entrepreneurs Management, Kundli, Sonipat, Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology, Thanjavur and other Institutes under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Nutrition Research Laboratory, Hyderabad under ICMR, Indian Institute of Packaging, Mumbai etc. and refers the problems of the Industry wherever necessary to these institutions for technological solution.GOVERNMENT RECOGNITIONIn regard to various matters concerning the Food Processing Industries in India, the Association is duly recognized by the Government of India, particularly the Ministry of Food Processing Industries as a Nodal Agency and it has close interaction with various Govt. bodies, such as:(i) Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries.(ii) Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

FHSAI, was incorporated in the year 2013, with the express intent of forgingactive linkages and lasting relationships, amongst all its members, spanning the entire eco-system, of the Hospitality Trade. It strives to be different, from

its peers, by architecting itself, from inception, to achieve, its stated objective delin-eated below.

1) MEMBERShIP: While, all who support the Hospitality Industry, thusfar, have no discriminating policy, with regard to membership and regale in the numbers game, we consensually and with firm intent, have decided, to apply rigorous entry criteria, to swell our membership and ranks, to all those entities, who can meet and better our in house, exacting criteria. It is a fervent hope that having players, who bench-mark with excellence, in all their endeavors, will internally create a forum, where excellence, will not just be a buzzword, to pay lip service to but will imbue all their exertions and efforts.
