In 1996 Jonathan Cawthorn, owner of Jonsigns

took the opportunity to establish a complete

sign company which has progressed rapidly

over the last 15 years.

The original company was based in a small

office in Blaydon, producing and fitting vehicle

graphics. Within a year, due to increased

business, the company moved to a 1,200 sq ft

unit in Transbrittania Business Park.

In October 2002 the business moved to a

new 7000 sq ft factory on Saltmeadows

Road in Gateshead. Due to our rapid

expansion, new premises were required

and in March 2011 we relocated into our

current 16,500 sq ft factory.

01. Consultation

Upon enquiry we will arrange a meeting (either at your premises or at our offices) to discuss your requirements.

We will take details of any branding and design requirements, and discuss planning permission or landlords’ consent

that you may require.

02. Site Survey

A member of our skilled team will then visit your premises to take accurate measurements, draw up basic plans and

assess fabrication requirements. Materials, fixings and, if applicable, access equipment requirements will be discussed.

03. Design

You will then be introduced to our design team who will undertake any design for print and production using their

expertise in CAD, illustration, photo manipulation and 3D modelling. We provide mockups, samples and/or proofs of all

work, and discuss fabrication options.

04. Fabrication

Once the final design has been approved we’ll calculate the projected turnaround and arrange an installation/delivery

date. Our design and production teams will work closely with our metalshop, wood-workers, print room, application

and assembly teams; to ensure the original concept is conveyed flawlessly.

05. Installation

Our dedicated installation team will install your new signage and will liaise with your arranged contact to discuss any

access requirements to ensure installations are carried out safely and at your convenience. We strictly adhere to all

health and safety legislation.

Jonsigns continues to be a success because we have kept

abreast with the new technology which has transformed

the industry in the last fifteen years. In today’s market

place, Jonsigns are aware that responding to tight

deadlines with the highest quality of service are key

to success.

We have two of the latest large-format digital printing

machines which are capable of print speeds up to 40m2/

hour. We also stock a vast range of printable materials

at all times. Our large format printers, accompanied by two

1600mm wide vinyl plotters, and stocking a huge selection

of guaranteed* vinyls allows us to operate within the

tightest of deadlines.

Our graphics are finished in-house, either on our 5m flat

bed laminator, or our specialist encapsulation machine for

both speed and precision.

Our in-house CNC machine allows us to cut, engrave and

machine a wide range of materials including stainless

steel, aluminium, acrylic and MDF. Combined with our

well-equipped metal shop, we can handle any custom

fabrication work.

*Cut vinyls are backed by a manufacturers conditional guarantee for longevity.

Additionally, all of our inks used in digital printing are UV stable, and therefore

suitable for outdoor use.

Our quality control and production teams work closely with

each department to ensure the highest of quality.

Jonsigns also provides a national installation team with a

fleet of fully-equipped vehicles with access, and health

and safety equipment.

Our staff are trained to accreditation level on safe erection of

scaffolding (PASMA) and the operation of MEWPS (IPAF).

Staff are trained annually to gain CSCS cards which are

required on new build sites. We also carry out CRB checks

within certain fitting teams to enable us to operate safely

within national and local government bodies.

are and what you are selling.

Signs are such a powerful

communication medium that it is

difficult to estimate the extent of

their influence. Other media require

the directed attention of the person

receiving the message.

Flex face signs can be found at manyof the larger retail parks, and consistof an illuminated or non illuminatedbox framework with a PVC skin withgraphics to suit.

As these signs don't have therestrictions of acrylic panel sizes,like traditional framed signs, joints orpanel sections can be a thing of thepast and sizes and shape almostlimitless!

Illumination if planned and installedinside the flex face casing gives youbrilliant results with a nice smoothspread of illumination.

Hoardings - Short to medium term

wooden hoardings are an effective

way to get your message across.

Fabricated from 3 x 6 treated

framework with digitally printed

graphics applied to the front panel

can give maximum impact to

let passing trade know of future

developments.

Banners are a quick, cost effective

way to promote and sell your

company and products. Choose

from heavy weight PVC material

to light weight mesh banners that

can be supplied and fitted to any size.

Flags are also a great way to promote

brand awareness with their superior

viewing height and simple, effortless

changeovers.

Window graphics are a very high

impact and cost effective advertising

method. They are also perfectly

suited to primarily aesthetic

applications. The most common

uses are for promoting brand

awareness (usually permanent) and

for one-off promotions (temporary).

There are several materials including

full-colour digitally printed vinyl,

cut vinyl decals, window films,

‘contravision’, frosted/etched (which

may also be printed onto) and even

backdrops or dressings.

Jonsigns specialise in bespokearchitectural lighting displays.Using the latest LED lightingsystem alongside new DMX andWIFI technology we can transformany building space with fantasticresults. The images here are of arefurbished block of flats inNewcastle’s west end. There arefive blocks in total and each onecommunicated remotely via aWIFI signal. Jonsigns have received accreditation over the last 4 years from SAFEcontractor,

a leading edge scheme which recognises very high standards of health and safety

practise amongst UK contractors.

Under the SAFEcontractor system, businesses undergo a vetting process, which

examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice.

Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which

is accessible to registered users only via a website, www.safecontractor.com.

Employer-organisations who sign up to the scheme can access the database,

which enables them to vet potential contractors before they even set foot on site.

These employers agree that, as users of the scheme, they will engage only those

who have received accreditation.

We are now new members of the British Safety Council. Founded in 1957, the

British Safety Council (BSC) is one of the world’s leading independent authorities

on health, safety and environmental sustainability.

BSC cover training, auditing and give an advisory role in all aspects of health and

safety management.
