Washington State University and WSUExtension are committed to the Land-Grantheritage of openness, accessibility, andservice to people. To that end, College ofAgriculture, Human and Natural ResourceSciences (CAHNRS) Dean Wright addressedthe attached memo to all WSU Extensionvolunteers. The WSU Extension MasterGardener program recently revised its vision, mission and values to be, among otherthings, intentional about Diversity, Equity andInclusion (DEI). As you know, Belonging is an EssentialElement of the 4-H Program. As a statewide, flagship program we are in a unique positionto lead the (DEI) effort across WSUExtension volunteer programs. There is astatewide team of staff, volunteers and youthengaged in DEI. Our Land-grant missionmandates us to provide service to everyone. Our program volunteers must better reflectthe communities we serve so we can betterprovide the services that our uniquecommunities need. We will need and rely oneach of you to help increase the diversity ofour program. See attached page to viewDean Wright's memo.
