Members of a World Community in the Church We are a Lay Apostolic Body in the Church

responding to the call received in Itaici, Brazil to: bring the freeing power of Christ to our Social

Reality; find Christ in all our varied cultures; live Christ to bring Him to every aspect of our

daily life.

In Europe we are present in 18 different countries and we have contacts in at least another 6 new countries

Our NCs are linked in many ways to other NCs in the other parts of the world (not only in Europe)

“In short, our sharing, reports and discussions indicate that CLC in Europe is generally committed to an ever-growing range of apostolic initiatives”

Cross border membership & community: with an increasing amount of people travelling across Europe for work and study we saw an opportunity to enhance our NCs and also the regional sense of our community (eg:WYD2011);

CLC Commitment: share good practices & experiences. The World Community needs them!

Formation & Leadership: share our experiences. Formation of group guides is an ExCo priority as well. Leadership training is also felt as an urgent need on which we need to work.

Forced Migration Network: This is an ever growing concern for our European society. We have much to work on and much to share. This is a practical and concrete initiative that can give a humane face to what is more oftenly seen as a cold Europe!

CLC in the region is one way of finding our identity in the world – we are members of the World Community who find our identity in our national and regional organisation – e.g.: Holidays, Young Adult regional meetings (many of the participants go on to become leaders in the NCs);

Regional networks are a priority for the ExCo since they are an excellent method of bringing our (world) community’s priorities closer to our members when implementing them – e.g.: Migration network, formation documents, leadership training, Ecology network?, advocacy

The regional setup creates an easier companionship of communities. We can be more responsible for each other and so continue to bring the world community closer to all CLCers – even new NCs;

This regional companionship of communities is a direct response to our DSSE dynamic. So how do we practice this dynamic as CLC Europe?

This is how we grow (in a very practical manner) into being an Apostolic Community - doing DSSE together.
