Required for consideration for automatic admission to Texas public universities
Required for graduation along with passing 5 EOC exams
Graduation Requirements for Students Entering High School in 2014-2015 and thereafter
Expectation for all incoming 9th-grade students

What is an Endorsement?
• A program of study that reflects students’ interests

Multidisciplinary Studies Endorsement
• Allows students to select courses from multiple areas
• Focuses on the four foundation subject areas, Advanced Placement courses and dual credit courses
• Does not follow a specific career path• Serves as the default endorsement for
students who do not make a selection

Selecting an Endorsement
• Students must select an endorsement upon entering ninth grade
• Students may change their endorsement any time, and written notice will be provided to parents
• Multidisciplinary Studies endorsement will be the default selection for students who do not make an endorsement selection
